I went to Barmouth in Wales a few years ago and there was a tattoo place called 'Infectious Ink' or something along those lines lol. Also someone had knocked the 'C' from 'Carousel Cafe', renaming it 'Arousel Cafe'. How we chuckled.

Well, going back to where the support officer got my fruit machine from, I think that the shop name "The Range" is unusual, but it suits the shop at the same time as it sells almost anything. So basically, it sells a "range" of things, hence the shop's name.

Hmmm yes I see where you are coming from there with the name. 'The Range' etc, probably why they gave it that name.
I use to think how amazing, a bloke called Mr Chip ran a fish and chip shop. Also, Mr Plastic who sold plastic cladding and guttering!!!! Until a friend explained why
Mr Softee???
Going back a few years, there was a firm round this way called 'Dick Bearings', brought a rather sad smile to one's face.
We use to have the Chief Public Health Engineer called Mr Smellie (Honest). His name was written on all the dustcarts and shit tankers!!!!
How we laughed.

Iv'e been looking on that interweb and...

I think that this one is really unusual. First of all, let me explain for those who don't know that we use a white cane to travel around outside, it helps us find where we are. We can also apply for a guide dog which can be made to follow routes then can be commanded to find the door, etc. Our old social bar was called "The Dog and Cane"! I thought that was really strange, but I liked it. I hope it stays the same as it is moving on Friday night and opening next week. That is the same as our refectory which is called "Rowtons" but is moving to the Bistro on Saturday, however, I won't be there for the last meal because I'm going to TGS Bowling for a burger and bowl! yum!

and these hand car washes I wonder if anybody's took their car in completely caked in shit from nose to bumper, roof to tyre and been turned away lol.
About a mile from my house lol

There used to be a pub in Glasgow called 'The Canal' cause it was next to the canal. Oh the mirth when it shut down and the C disappeared from the sign.
Back to the original topic of lost in translation check out this site http://www.engrish.com .

Hey UYA. The topic was originally any unusual shop names. It just happens to be funnier with the Japanese mis-translation. . The 'Lost in Translation' is a good idea you have there.
Here is one I came across on the bottom of a battery charger for a Japanese radio I bought a couple of months ago.
"Bright trickling charge (battery stops using has been long) the chareto mistake.
Prevent cooks meals or is injured only battery assigns carry on the charge"
Clever these Japanese!!!!
P.S. UYA. Just love your line of dancing yellow Manic Miners. (8 Bit rules).
