I would have been very tempted if I felt it was worth the effort. Do we actually know for sure if it is 'fully working' yet?

Ok I have powered it up and only problem is the display is showing a load of @ symbols, apart from this it's all working. Anyone know how to fix?

Sometimes unplugging the alpha and re-plugging it in can clear that but wouldn't count on it. My epoch machine does this sometimes but rarely.

Yeah I'd already tried that but no luck. Is it likely to be the display, or something else at fault?

Any further news banditboy? There is a problem wth the alpha display, but it can probably be fixed! If it's not gone by the weekend then I'm gonna break it for parts and it's going to the arcade in the sky

The battery may have started to leak over the mpu 4 board, and this could be causing the garbled alpha display.

Guess I'll have to take the board out to check this then...

I think you are right, I have taken the board out and had a look and these were my findings, do you think this is fixable?

Ok took the battery off and tested continuity of the tracks and about 4 were gone. Have now soldered links across them and all is well, display is working! Thanks guys.
