Hey all.

Can anyone tell me, if you have a £5 Jackpot machine, and either a £25, £35 or £70 Jackpot (or even on club ones £100 or £250), providing you have the relevant game card, the relevant decals, you programme the machine to play on those Jackpot's etc, does it make any difference what Scorpion 4 mpu you are using?

I'll explain why. Got a DOND Classic £5 Jackpot, that worked fine, until lights started coming on, staying on, and brightening up all the time. At the time I had a ShowTime machine, on a £70 Jackpot, so took the board out of that one, and put it into DOND, and the board from DOND into ShowTime, which did exactly the same thing. DOND accepted the board, and everything works fine on it. I noted down the position of the DIL switches and made sure the new one matched exactly as the old one did. I haven't altered any percentages or stakes on it, mainly because this machine's gamecard is specifically DOND Classic and you can't change this machine to £25 or £35 Jackpot.

Now, before DOND started doing this problem, you were able to get a fair run out the machine, and were able to hit the top features, namely Streak It Up, and Feature Streak, and a lot f the times, you were able to turn them red too. Now, no matter how many times I play this machine, I can NEVER get these features to light up, let alone play them. Also, it never used to take the machine long to Go All The Way. Now, it NEVER Goes All The Way, unless you turn the three boxes red, which is very, very rare. I just wondered, as the boards are exactly the same, have I done, or am I doing something wrong. As mentioned above everything on the original board, I copied onto the other board, but I wondered if pub machine boards had a different programming function inside of them than what the arcade ones do. I'm probably talking rubbish but would really like to know why this doesn't GATW anymore. Cheers.

If you change the board your machine is running on.. then the memory will most likely to have reset.. that would mean that the percentage is lower and ergo less is offered. After time it sshold revert back to normal.

Percentage will be reset, average time for percentage to level out is 1000 plays.

Pub machines have different settings in their eeproms.

Pub = single site settings  Arcade = Arcade settings.

Generally no difference, however there is a mod on some scorp4 boards that had to be done for the game to run.

Pretty sure it involved cutting a track somewhere, but buggered if I can remember where or what it was for.

Sure I have seen this mentioned at the Mecca before.

yep your on about sec 240 board where there is a mod where you run a wire from 1 part of the board to another

without it the machine will run but i believe not to gaming board spec as its a mod they required done to machines over a certain age

Would this not throw up a 9.6c error or 9c - I remember a few of these being quite a pain in the bottom unless got right.

Best wishes

Stu.
