Hey all,

Selling a couple of my lo-tech machines.

1st up - Bar X Ten

It's on castors for ease of moving, but it is quite tall and heavy as usual (about 120kg). I can help you load it into your car / van, ideally you would need a minimum of an estate car with the passenger seat folded flat, or at the very least as far forwards and down as far as it will go! :)

Machine has a Chuzzy kit fitted (prog v2.6), which is worth a few quid by itself. It's a kit that introduces a few new bits of gameplay, and allows for a HUGE range of stakes / prizes options through a software menu, no fiddling about with switches to change stakes / prizes / percentages  :)

It's currently on the recommended 'hardcore' setting of £25 BARs, £15 XXXs, and 30p play, but you can change it to pretty much *anything*. The Chuzzy kit allows you to change the stake, XXX win and BAR win in software without needing to play with switches and things. It's a doddle. Note I only have the decals for £1/£2/£5/£8/£15/£25, so I'd suggest using say £5 or £25 jackpot settings, although you could also do £15 BAR and £8 XXX, or £8 BAR and £2 XXX.

To be honest I often played it at different jackpots without changing the decals - when sat at the machine you only see the reels, credit / bank windows and nudge lamps anyway, and since there's only two prize amounts (XXX and BAR) you can remember the values. You could use a couple of post-its, or make your own decals in paint / Photoshop. They literally just 'stick' to the inside of the top glass, you could use a little sticky tape  :)

Now, I've spent £50 on a replacement mainboard and Chuzzy kit. I've replaced a couple of transistors on the mainboard with fly-leads, which you will see if you look at the board. It's otherwise fully working, I've not tried £2 coins in it but I'm sure it takes them. It pays out £1 coins.

Condition? Cabinet is in VERY good condition for it's age, 13 years. Step was recently renovated. Glass in excellent condition. All buttons / lamps / fluorescent tubes working fine, and chrome in very good condition! Would make a very attractive games room piece!!  :)

There is a nick / scratch on the right-hand reel, I will add a photo of it once I find my camera charger (might end up using my phone!)

... also have Viva Mexico.

I paid £35 for this (bargain) and it's worth at least that in spares. Not wanting to make a profit so it's up for sale for £35!

Here's the original thread where I came across it : http://www.fruit-emu...l=+viva +mexico

If I don't sell it I'll break it and keep the glasses, but it seems a shame since it's fully working.

It's basically a clone of Casino Crazy Fruits, but with a Mexican theme, and instead of the normal red display at the top, this one uses red, yellow and green LEDs - very pretty :D

Same casino cabinet as Bar X, not mint condition and the belly glass has some 'burn' from the lamp behind it. It's £35 for a fully working machine though!!

Will grab photos of Viva Mexico on the morning, but I think I've put some up on the forums too. It's on £15 Jackpot but has the PROMs for £25 and a set of photocopied decals too, so I can put it on £25 if you'd prefer.

Machines located in my garage in Spalding, Lincolnshire  :)

The Bar X? Yeah, it's in very good condition. I know I said I'd strip it for parts if it didn't sell but I do have a soft spot for them and it does look nice turned on. Just wanting to trip the garage collection down before I get another skip and start making more room.

Cost me around £150 for the machine, then £25 for the Chuzzy and £25 for the new mainboard after I blew the first one experimenting, so it's cost me £200, not like I paid bugger all and am trying to profit :)

I can't be bothered making money on machines, hence why I've also put the Viva Mexico up for £35 :)

£60 + a fiver to Fruit-Emu's kitty - sorry, price is in the title but I must have removed it from the post when I edited it to add Viva Mexico :o

If you weren't 105 miles away from me, I'd have been round for Viva Mexico by now ;)

Both machines are in amazing condition and very cheap as chasbons states if only you were closer I think I'm further away than him. But whoever gets these will get an absolute bargain.

Viva Mexico isn't in amazing condition, but it's £35 - I mean the mainboard and PSU are worth more than that, hence why stripping it for spares (but keeping the glasses as I always do) is definitely an option for me, especially since my Clouseau uses Scorpion 4 :)

Photo of Viva Mexico, it shows the 'burn' to the belly glass, you can see the fluorescent tubes through it.

Sorry about the amount of reflections, machine is at the front of the garage for the moment and I can't be bothered moving it too much for a photo! :)

Incase you are wondering about the bits in the payout tray, they are various bits from the DOND I smashed, I threw them in the payout tray for this because it was convenient at the time :D

Typical, I'd really like the Bar X but as usual I'm skint.

Buyer let me down for Viva Mexico, therefore I got frustrated and broke it for spares :(

Bar X has now sold on the Mecca.

Any chance a mod could close this thread? :)

... what an utterly ridiculous comment to make. The asking price was £35, and to come here and say you would have paid £50 is rubbing salt in to the wound and you know it. It was for sale for £35 as that is what I paid.

Bar X is going to a chap on the Mecca who seems like a bit of a legend (so it's going to a very good home!!!) - as for Viva Mexico, it's a shame but I was rather pissed off after being let down, and decided I'd break it. To be fair 'BIGBALLS' when Bar X was last for sale, you said you'd take it for £50, which was a bit of an insultingly low offer at the time, since I'd just paid £50 on a mainboard and Chuzzy. I've now got £60 + a fiver to that forum's kitty, which I'm happy with - even if the machine did cost me much more!!

Selling fruit machines ends like this a lot - lots of friends know I keep machines, and they all say they'd love one... but then their other half or whatever gives them a reality check. When I was selling Bar X a while back (at a higher price), someone said they'd definitely have it, then just before they were due to collect it they said they couldn't come any more and didn't want it. Of course they had every right to, since they hadn't paid, but it's very frustrating (especially when you need the space).

Regarding the machine not having gone to a good home - I had wanted to sell it whole. Trust me, with the exception of DOND, breaking machines isn't particularly pleasurable. In fact it's not nice at all. I did regret it afterwards, but I was a bit annoyed and actually thought 'sod it, the hassle isn't worth £35'. A mistake? Probably. I've kept every part of it so it could be used to rebuild another cabinet in the future (only chucked the belly glass as the UV tube had completely ruined the paint - it had powdered and was coming off with the merest touch) - which would certainly be an option if I get bored. I've not stripped it for spares to profit, if required I could use the PSU / mainboard in my Clouseau.

I'd much rather someone came and just took a machine off my hands, and have previously given fully working machines away for nothing (albeit normally in the best condition!!).

There must be an underlying message in this thread, about buying and selling Fruit machines, but can't be bothered to work it all out!!!
