Hi guys, Here is good news and bad. The good news is the micro sampler keyboard has arrived and the mic should be coming tomorrow. the shop had to contact Korg UK to deliver one as they are discontinued. Bad, I have an in-grown toenail on the right foot and I am having an op tomorrow. It should take 10 days to heal. I would love to hear the sounds of at least another epoch video ringing in my ears just for me before I go. I'll be going at half 4. I would love to see what bud wise er coors sounds like in reverse once I have the mic, and I can also play it across the keyboard. Or maybe even the simpsons theme tune played on Homer's "Doh? or Barny's "errrrrrrrrrrrr" haha, amuzing hey? I still wish to be a member but for those of you that have read my reply to the donate or you may lose us! thread, I have no way of doing this. I will honestly promise I'll be here until I die! I'll never leave FME, but it's hard to create layouts when I can't see and the screen reader can't read out images and be accessible with photoshop etc. I may however be able to locate ROMs from MAME sites and I know how Daryl feels with his altsheimers. it's tough!

Hi, That's a shame the Korg Micro sampler keyboard is discontinued. I love korg stuff had an MS 20 synth  and SQ 10 Analogue sequencer in the 70's, worth a fortune now. Still have the microKONTROL midi studio to play about with.

Seriously I'd rather suffer an 'In-growing' toe nail (not pleasant I admit), than the onset of Alzheimers or Parkinsons. No comparison there M8.

P.S. Hope your op goes OK M8 and you will be up and about in no time.

Regards

                Ricardo.

good luck with the op lad... I hope you're feeling better very soon :)

Your contributions here with your lovely posts will be more than enough a donation - especially with your insight to how things sound... we just take that for granted with regular vision, and perhaps it is something we should really be more observant about - especially how it is a vital part of how you have to live.

Just keep being you - and I certainly do hope that "you haven't finished" here by a long shot!! :)

I'm a bit of an expert on ingrown toenails :)

I've had both versions of the nail excision / nail matrix destruction done to the big toes on each foot, one using the old method (physically cutting the nail matrix) and one using the more recent method where they kill the nail matrix with chemicals (phenol if that's not been banned yet!).

With the old version of the op, mine was botched and (interesting fact!) I now have 2 nails on my left big toe. I couldn't walk for ages and it took AGES to heal.

However with the modern version of the op, I tried returning to work after a few days and they wouldn't let me, I felt absolutely fine and it's healed absolutely fine.

Are you having the whole nail removed? If so all you will feel (once you've had the local anaesthetic) is 'tugging'. The alternative which my GP did first on me was a 'wedge excision', which only works if it's ingrown on one side, they just take a 'strip' of nail. IMHO though you may as well have the whole thing done.

Nah, it's easy. I'd have it done again tomorrow just for a laugh. Then again I quite enjoyed having my impacted wisdom tooth removed under local. Didn't enjoy as much as Bill Murray enjoyed his dentist trip in Little Shop of Horrors, but it was interesting all the same.

The nurses who did my second 'toe job' were shocked at the job the first doctor had done, it's an old fashioned method and I don't think they use it any more.

I also forgot to say, my toe is almost healed. It was the new way using fenol, but they were meant to stitch the 2 sides of the nail to keep the wound closed but they didn't! :( anyway, all is fine. I am a bit of a Harry Potter fanatic, so I wish that Hermione Granger would provide a no day healing for my toe! I'm still having some iodine ointment, innodine dressing and a plaster on it, we only take it off in the shower, bathe it in salt water and leave it open to dry off properly. PS. Homer is about to fart on me, need to find a spare plug for laptop charger!

I thought you were going to say you were visiting Mississippi or something. Anyway, ingrown toenails are painful, I've had them all of my life, so I hope it is feeling better. Glad you got everything up and going too, did you get everything prior to the surgery?
