Hi guys and gals, first post from me on this board.

Im not new to forums but very new to fruit machine ownership, just bagged myself a little gem too, a JPM RollerCoaster :)

Used to play it all the time in the pub and it holds some pretty good memories, Tried out the emulator which is amazing and very spot on accurate, then went on the hunt for a fruity and found one for a very reasonable price.

There is a little fault with it as in the hold buttons are not lighting up, the previous owner said it might be a loose connection.

Apart from the fault it is in very cood condition, as soon as it arrives ill pop some pics up before i start nagging you all for help :)

Rex

Welcome, all I have to say is NIIIICCEEE! I used to play on this machine in the pub too, so you can I probably share some similar memories. It seems in lovely condition, bet you can't wait to get home from work to play on that.

Right, the road trip to collect the machine went pretty smooth and i now have it at home.

So i start by chucking some coins through it and it seems to work fine, then worked out how to dump the coins so i can keep playing, then think time to have a look at why the buttons arent lighting up.

I found that the bulbs are all blown so simple fix :)

Found another slight problem though, loads of broken bulb holders that were covered up with gaffer tape (bodge).

So, where can i get some new bulbs and holders ?

Also, the guy i bought it off also gave me a load of eurocoin london tokens, would it be possible to run this machine on tokens only?

Very nice machine from a time when they were fun and entertaining.

eBay would be the best place to find bulbs and holders but be careful on changing as the vac may have become very brittle hence all the tape.

It may be switchable to £8 tokens, but all wins under £4 would be cash.

Right, got some bulb holders, most of them arrived un-broken....bonus.

Am I right in thinking I would need a telephone engineer tool (like in a BT socket) to push the wires in to the holders?

I have just PM'ed nails this link and my phone jast rang...

Oh yeah, music and chat in the background toss was enjoying a pint in the pub...whereas i'm home from work and cooking dinner drinking coffee!

He said on his phone he can't see what I PM'ed so explained the post as good as I could.

Apparently rexer you don't need any tools, the holder has 2 pins that automatically pierce the coating on the wire.......

..........nails explained it as..........

"If you get a strip of wire you can simply 'snap' them with no tools wherever they need to be"

He then went on to say.......

"If you look at one of your machines"..............yeah like i'll rip it apart lol ...

I'm sure if theres no reply before nails sobers up (git!) he'll reply to this ASAP....and correct what I thought he meant!

Somehow I've only just seen this, I've got loads of spare bulb holders, but not sure if I had the correct ones you needed.

Just push the wires into them with a small screwdriver, very carefully.

You can usually see when they are in far enough to make a connection, replace one and try it, if it doesn't work push the wire in a bit more.

That's what I usually do and I haven't had a problem.... yet! :)

The BT tool you are talking about is an  Insulation Displacement Tool. It bifurcates the wire and places it in position depending on the thickness of the metal conductor.
