hi everybody

My Money Monster (Empire) fruit machine has developed a fault with the 7-segment LED displays (both the 'shots' and 'nudges' displays) - the tops of the numbers are missing - see attached screenshots

Does anybody know what the fault is, or how to rectify the problem please.

Now and then, both displays correct themselves, but more than not, I'm missing the top segment of the 7-segment displays

thanks and regards

J

Could be a faulty diode, but i don't know which. One of the mecca lads may know more.

If sometimes they work I would check the connectors esp the crimped connector its most likely a connection fault if intermittent.

Also possible is a dry joint on one of the soldered pins.

Diodes tend to work 100% or 0% not intermittent.

One wire will be common to all 3 top segs, so find it and It will fix all three or its possible MPU fault.

Probably a transistor gone open circuit on the main mpu..... Find and replace the transistor or get another mpu.....

after twiddling the yellow wires back to the MPU board it seems to be ok for now - i suspect i have a dodgy wire.

thanks everyone !!
