Phil doesn't feel the need to reregister as a new member every 5 minutes because he has behaved so shockingly badly to other members, nor does he go around stalking people across Internet forums, yet you accuse him of being weird. What a twisted and perverse world you inhabit, with apologies for taking this off topic.

It's OK, I've had to put machine buying plans on hold for a while due to dad wanting a new kitchen - and the units will be stored in the garage.

That and it's getting bloody cold now, I'd forgotten it's not really the right time of year to be buying machines, will probably hold off 'til Spring - or do what I normally do and go on eBay drunk, wake up in the morning, check my emails and wonder WHY THE HELL I BOUGHT THAT :D

You never change mate. If past performance is owt to go by, it'll be some fookng expensive headphones.

Nope, I used to buy headphones sober [edit - actually... maybe I bought a few when drunk!]

Drunk purchases were normally laptops / computers / fruit machines (or pachislos / pachinkos), games consoles, and general gadgets.

Anyway, since I got a set of custom made headphones with my name engraved on them, I've not changed. For the past 2 years I've owned the custom set (Beyerdynamic Manufaktur DT990 600ohm), some Denon AH-D1000s, Sennheiser PX100-II, Sony MDR-R1 and Koss Porta-Pro. Mind you the Porta Pro and the AH-D1000s have pretty much fallen apart. Compared to a certain year when I went through about 34 pairs, that's not bad :D

Best idea I ever had that - if you want to make sure you can't sell something on (so have to keep it until it breaks), have your name laser engraved on it and pick a dodgy colour scheme so that nobody else would want it :)
