That is all you can do, keep checking at hazes website.  I imagine any real news will be posted at the official FME MAME section here.

The FME in MAME section has been set up ready for any such event. We

have been made aware that any significant events will be posted here by members who are involved within the MAME community, so that is all we give you at this moment in time :)

its a tough one, its happening (albeit slowly) so we just have to wait. one day we will all log on and see that fme in mame has been released, and we can all play DOND.

We really should have a special area for the forthcoming epoch emulator.  The guy offers interesting and consistent news updates regarding it's development.

the mame section wasn't as forth coming as I hoped, but none the less its there and anybody can post.

with guitar developing amber and killcrazy developing his Epocalype now, will we need mame? who knows.

wizard did indeed say he would give amber some time to be released before he released his update. will that time come, or did mame bury the hatchet on that one ?

I think the whole mame thing means we may never see an updated mfme unfortunately.  A massive shame, I can only imagine how far It has come on since 2006.  I still remember when he released mfme2 one Christmas.

I think 'other' factors rather than mame are why a new mfme is not forthcoming.

At one point it looked like a done deal that mfme v 4 was gonna get released to the masses, then was snatched away in one carrot dangling episode. That video still annoys the shit out of me now :)

as did it to all of us.

*hopefully* those days are gone, and those members who sought to discredit fme and wazard have moved on. looking back, did anybody ever thank wizard for all the hard work he did? personally i never got a chance, but for all the days and hours ive fired up mfme, i'd shake his hand for sure.

I thought the video was pretty cool, shame we may never play this stuff in mfme but I can't believe he would do all of that work to never release it?  But anyway that's his business. We all have access to the mame source code.   It should be easy to cobble an emulator together :)

i couldnt agree more, wizard had done what could only be assumed as countless hours of work into 'his' emulator. its a shame that MAME asked (told) him not to release it, but i still hold a torch for it ans hope one day it surfaces.

He had also included countless hours of MAME developer's work on 'their' emulator into MFME too and then felt unable to comply with the terms of the licence under which he included said code.  MAME have asked that he abides by the licence terms to which he signed up to, which say that if he releases the binary file then the underlying source is released with it.  And before anyone gets on their hgh horse about one line of code here and there, it was actually whole core sections, with all of the MAME bugs still left in it, hence why they spotted it.

Wizard is perfectly free and at liberty to release any version of MFME he chooses; it is only Wizard stopping this from happening.

You mention in a post above about members who have discredited FME and now moved on.  If you are on about the member I think you are then you are so far from the truth it is laughable.  And one sure fire way of ensuring their return is to continue peddling that sort of tosh.

Let's not start this shite again eh?

Mame didn't "spot" jack shit - they were told. Repeatedly. I know this, and so do you bj.

How many years ago was all this now, and what have we got instead of MFME4? Oh that's right, absolutely nothing but a bunch of talk ("90s emulator") which evaporated into nothing, surprise surprise. Me? I know "black belt bullshit" when I hear it.

I'm guessing many here would've liked the chance to play the new MFME however many years ago, but sadly those self-appointed few took it upon themselves to ensure they almost certainly never will.

NEVER forgiven.
