I've just won a fruit machine from flea bay for £11 but it's not working!
Don't know anything about this machine.
It's called movie magic can anyone tell me who made it? Also what system does this run on?
I haven't collected yet but the seller says some lights come on but the reels don't spin and the buttons don't work!!!
So defiantly a non worker lol would like this to me my little project to get it working but not sure if the parts would still be available.

If you've not already popped over, I'd strongly suggest asking the same question at the MPU Mecca. Being made by Crystal I'd normally assume it's JPM hardware but it's such an odd looking cabinet I'm not sure. Doesn't look like the normal JPM IMPACT based stuff, could have been made using whatever the tech before that was (System 5)?

As for what is wrong, I'm going to be honest here - parts will almost certainly be available, but when you buy an old / rare machine like that, they aren't going to be cheap. Might be worth looking at trying to repair the existing board, and probably PSU since that may well have issues. There's some excellent techie types at the Mecca, including ones who repair and sell boards, and ones who can talk you through repairs.

If you haven't already got one, I think I'd suggest you get a digital multimeter and a soldering iron!

Thanks bencrest I'll join up at Mecca and post on there.
I'm supposed to pick it up tonight so when I do I'll see what happens and post on here the results.

To me I wouldn't have a clue! I just hope I can fix it or someone could help me as I'd love to get the machine working again.

Oh that would be so much better if it were mpu 4 as think I might have a better chance of getting the parts
I'm leaving here in 20 minutes to collect so can't wait to get this machine home.

Movie Magic is made by Crystal and according to the roms sites it runs on system 5 tech. But there is a classic on here and it is under the impact tech.

Good news I've got the machine home and just emptied the tubes to find £60 in them. But the bad news is it's system 5 the battery's leaked and it's not working I've attached a picture. Will I be able to get this fixed or replaced or is it a non runner and just break down?

Thanks guys for all your comments you have all been a great help!!! You know what I may just scrap it I've earned from it lol. It's just a shame it's the system 5 board that was what I was dreading. Does anybody need anything from it before I dump it? :(
