You should be able to CTRL ALT DEL and close down the amber process that way.  Happened to me last night and the layout wouldn't close down. 

 

I seemed to have lost 4 hrs last night, bit of a session

 

I can't imagine offline again to be honest, it's so much more realistic.  A machine errored on me so I quit out and when I reloaded it was in the same error state, it was like waiting for a technician to come over to reset the machine.  Though the error was due to me not happen the latest amber update...

 

I'm going to have a mess around with my Cluedo Super Sleuth layout that I did for mfme, see if I can puzzle it out and convert to amber.

Thanks again just wish my internet wouldn't keep cutting me off. Is there any way you could put a red cross or something that closes it straight away because if my internet dies I can't close it the way you've did it so have to restart computer to start again needs a abort button or something

 

Its not as simple as that. Once you play an online game you are locked to the machine. When you exit, it sends the state of the machine back to the server and waits for the server to say it has been received ok. It will then exit the game. If you lose internet connection you will never receive the ok, and cannot exit.

 

If I add a force exit, people will start using it as habit, the save states wont get sent, and machines will never move on.

 

The emu is locked down in online mode to help prevent cheating.

 

I will see what I can do, but no guarantee's.

 

What's wrong with your internet? Try fixing it.

 

Also you don't need to shut down your pc, just use the task manager if it gets stuck.

Ok well the server has now had its upgrades done. I should be able to track things better now and help out more when people get errors.

 

The database upgrade cocked up a DBSave so all machines and players are being reset to zero values.

 

ALL machines are offline right now and will be reappearing as I get the state saves sorted. Should take no more than an hour to get everything going again. But the server is up again now.

 

This should be the last DB reset until the official launch (hopefully)

just a quick one have ALL the layouts got the token slot working if needed only tommy c's andy  capp  doesn,t so it'll run out of tokens

Machines cannot run out of tokens.

 

All machines should be playable online again now.

 

Layouts are being updated on the Skydrive. Should be finished within 20 minutes.

A new exe update will be out sometime today, not entirely sure when as my day is mental busy.

 

Hoppers for M1 tech are now working, and the multi select editor bug has gone.

 

There may be other tweaks of I get time.

 

I have been working on converting Lucky Strike over and will release it as soon as its ready.

 

I believe Ploggy has a conversion or two to release at some point as well.

 

Server is up now and should be up until boxing day without interruption unless an major issues occur.

Yes, many thanks for Amber online fella.  I find it totally boring playing offline now.   Should be excellent over the next few months as more layouts get built or converted from mfme layouts.  Have a great Christmas
