I have installed the latest Project Amber and the game pack and put the roms and layouts where they are supposed to go, bit I can't get this to run. When I try it just shows a black screen. Big breakfast shows to meters and that is it. When I go to the game list it tells me that the layout and roms are missing, yet I have followed instruction on here has to where they go. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I have a very high spec quad core machine.

i dont think the game pack is up to date for the emu version is it big breakfast or big breakfast casino what you are trying to play

Download stanmarshs update for games as they all work although we've been getting machine's go wrong ie call manager etc
The more I do today, The less I do tomorrow.
Fme is alive and screaming into the 21st century!

Server testing should begin this weekend.

 

I've been very busy bringing a few improvements to the emulator.

 

Bitmap Handling has been upgraded. BMP, PNG, PSD files now allowed as input formats. These are converted to PNG format internally. Directly import from Photoshop PSD file with alpha channels.

 

Along with this, advanced Alpha Blending options have been added.

 

A completely new fast Font Renderer.

 

Added a tool for quick changing properties of multiple lamps / 7 segs / reels at once.

 

Adding a tool to help clean up layouts if they end up pixelated during conversion.

 

Given the menu's a complete makeover. New Amber Logo and Theme.

 

Bingo / Raffle / Lucky Spins to win Free Plays Including a communal Free Play jackpot.

 

Layout Scanning is much faster.

 

Layout Loading is faster once converted and saved.

 

.pac files are now .pad files. A one click converter has been written and will be released with the emu.

 

Sorted out the online chat so you can see all the messages.

 

Added M1 Hopper support.

 

Improved the Alpha Channel editor.

 

Memory handling much better, less leaks, less usage, more stable usage.

 

You will soon be able to manage your own arcade.

 

Fixed the NEC sound bug causing lockups on MPU4.

 

Aladdins Cave now runs ok and saves without Out Of Memory errors.

 

Reel Editor will be getting a bit of a tweak to make it more intuitive to use.

 

Have fixed the Importing to allow custom 7 Seg and Alpha display artwork.

See my edited post ^. Layouts will be uploaded in their new format having been fixed.

 

They will be uploaded individually as they are checked off as complete with all settings etc.

 

I hope to start testing Saturday but you know how it goes sometimes.

With a little luck, the server will be up again tonight. I am aiming for 8 o clock, so should be up by 10. :)

 

The statistics and arcade management menu's wont be available yet, but can be sorted by the end of the week.

 

Mini Games should be done by tonight though, and the new menu system in place.

 

A few server changes have been made too, in preparation for the extra menus.

 

A complete server reset will be done as the save states from the old server are useless as changes have been made to  the state save.

 

It will be tested for a week or so to allow me to bug fix and add the last of the menu screens.

 

Then there should be another server reset and an official final(ish) release.
