There is a bug whereby the sound sometimes gets stuck on mute in the volume sliders. If you open the volume sliders and set tem to max it should work again.

Thanks for your reply can I ask how you do this its only the new machines that have no sound from what I can tell I have looked using f1 but no luck I must say this is loads better mate I have found a few little issues I have noted but I love how real the reels look they even have a little shake when they spin I hope you keep that in :)

Guitar with the issues I raised when we were online yesterday reguarding the layouts not working correctly.

 

I uninstalled the latest version and replaced it with the first version and all the games I tried worked so not sure what changed inbetween the first and second Amber EXE being released.

No, but you can do a lot with shortcut keys.

 

More shortcuts will be added in due course if needed.

 

Press F1 while playing a game to see the list of shortcuts.

Grabbed a bit of time last night, couldn't get Amber working at first with the screen size I wanted for some reason.  I was asking for 1920 x 1080 and it kept coming up with fake render error.  Anyway after a while I changed the screen size and it seemed to work but some of the main menu was cut off at the bottom.

 

...those little niggles aside it is very impressive, layouts look excellent.  Reel bounce, lamps that fade rather than just on and off.

 

I couldn't get into the online mode, it was just trying to connect non-stop, is the server inactive late at night?

The server is inactive most of the time atm. When its not in use, I turn it off to update the server

 

I will be issuing another exe update tonight, I have refined the emu/server interraction to hopefully improve the speed of data transfer and also put in a mot more checks before a layout will launch online. This should prevent layouts getting stuck "in use" and aid debugging from my end.

 

v10799 is NOT compatible with the new server and you MUST use the updated exe (when I release it) to log on.

 

I am working on some other bits too, there will be a release tongiht between now and 8pm sometime. And the server will go up 8-12 ish.

 

I have uploaded a fixed version of DADs Spotted Dick layout on the skydrive. And the cops n robbers bug has been fixed and should now be playable on and offline.

Cops N Robbers had the wrong rom name listed on the server.

 

Spotted Dick the decals had got set so position 1 was empty and position 2 had a layout in.

 

Easy Money is already converted will be uploaded to the skydrive tonight and will be playable online some time tonight too.

 

I will keep working till about 8pm then upload what I have and turn the server on properly.

 

The server is on at the moment for testing, but until you have the new exe please don't log in as it could mess stuff up. Cheers.

 

Feel free to play offline etc until then.

Will the server be up at most times when fully ready?  It will be great to actual play against other players and probably change how people play the machine maybe even.    Will you have multiple versions of machines online, say 3 x Super Multinudge machines to go at just like a real arcade and if I'm playing one will it be 'in use' so no-one can play that specific machine until it becomes vacant and the ram state has be saved etc.

 

Wow, there are many possibilities to this online play.  You could even have a membership for the online play, actually turn it into a bit of a sideline ;)

from what I,ve heard this looks the dogs hobknobs I'll give this another bash later if I still can,t see nowt then i'll wait till its live to the masses

now this is what we call a virtual arcade going in with a set limit say 100 and trying to make a profit if only dond;s were emu'ed people would be coming and going quicker

 

how come my computer doesn,t download the pac.files

Yes, once the server is working properly and doesn't need debugging daily, the server will be up on a more permanent basis.

Multiple Versions, on same or different stakes/prizes it already doable.

 

I already save the state of the machine so the game plays from the last player. And machines already lockout when being played.

 

Eventually everyone will have their own arcade (if they wish), which will earn you more play money. You will set the machines you want, and be able to set the machine up as required. There will also be maintainence to attend to.

 

But all in good time.

 

If anyone else wants a login/password, PM me. Please be patient though, coding, admin on the server, and real lif make for hectic work!

still can,t download the layout. pac.files could someone who has them maybe zip em up and pm me them please so i can test this properly please as only have the roms atm
