This looks excellent Guitar; I am a total numpty when it comes to stuff like this so am waiting until the dust settles over the next few days before dipping my toe into the Amber water. :D

But, Sys83 CnR is a delightful Christmas prospect; never ever thought that lovely old machine would see the light of day.

Many thanks for all your efforts mate. Any chance of an absolute IDIOT PROOF Guide how to install/use Amber/load layouts etc (on XP laptop) in due course please?

Cavey

Hey Cavey, you are going to love this mate, you really are.  Hats off to Guitar, the proof is in the pudding here, really is.

I played Sys83 CnR online last night a bit past 1am.  Last time I played this machine was in a local arcade probably around 1986 with big 10p pieces.   Now I'm sat in my cosy little work study and playing this machine virtually...

Once the layout is loaded it really hits you, the layout is sublime, amber really gives life to the machines in a natural way, the lamps flicker, they fade on and off, you really need to see it to appreciate it.

I caught CnR in a seemingly happy mood, though the feature board is a little harsh, even for 1985.  This wasn't a machine I played regularly back in the day, but I really enjoyed playing it last night, the best part of 'amber' for me is the ability to play online against other people.  It really is like stepping into an arcade and not knowing what state you will find the machine in.. Happy or tight. I played totally differently and also got caught out on a few machines that someone had rinsed before me, so if you like to win there are many challenges and it sounds like Guitar is going to be adding extra features to the online system.

I really don't think I will play offline anymore because this 'online'  feature is a mini game changer.  It will open up fme and maybe even re-energise the scene.

One feature I really didn't think I'd be bothered about is the live chat feature, but it's great, you can socially interact with other online users whilst playing the machines....  just try getting on your favourite :)

@letemspin aka cavey
The guide I wrote way back in 2012 May help its found in the tutorials section on here 'guide to getting Amber up and running'. Although a lot has changed within the emu since then, also there is useful images within this topic for set up purposes although there's still a few minor probs with it but I have to admit the virtual online arcade bit is great including shoutbox something which needs to be reinstated on here, anyways goodluck and I hope my guide assists you

Machines sure look better in amber!

I have never even seen sys83 cnr before.

I went on a few machines last night & the meters where flying as soon as loaded up, someone had rinsed & exited.

@guitar/ploggy
How do you set up your own virtual arcade and what machines can you have in it? As would like to try and create my own tonight called
Al's Amusements. I think there should be a limit set to say 30-50 machines so if you want to add some, some will have to go. Also can you play in your own arcade and make the machine's dodgy as in low %'s and crucial lights/lamps not lit as in s real dodgy arcade lol.

I think it's best to let Guitar and his team iron any bugs before we start talking of having our own online arcade.

Bloody hell, can't be any worse than my study PC.  Win7, Intel G530, Intel HD graphics (onboard), 4GB ram.  Amber flies for my very lo-fi system.

Correct.  It's a cracker, have you had the JP yet?  I've not.  Get caught too easily with anything over about 50p....played about 100 quid through it!
