Thanks for all the help guys, nv4 arrived, connected and so far so good, machine recognises it and hopper float has gone up to £250, just need to sort out the last couple of bits and get some notes to properly test it.

Ok, so hit a brick wall, it takes notes in, does not credit them and stops dead without ejecting the note, it seems to die with the note stuck 3/4 out the back end. Any ideas?

Had a play with it, It seems to work better without the metal clip that holds the note down while validating, I now have it validating £10 notes "most" of the time, the only £5 note I have is very flimsy and as such, a bit temperamental and I have no £20 notes to check at the moment, 

 

oddly though, with the £5 note, a few times I have had it validate OK, add the credits as it should, then return the £5 note to me.

 

But, at least I'm getting there,

Good Good. If its crediting and returning the note that was from the software on the machine not the nv4's firmware. Had this many moons ago on a utter nutter club machine it was there software. Well done tho

OK, hopefully the last question, It is not taking the new £20 notes, this i sort of expexted but was reading that with the right jiggery pokery and a cable, they can be updated, it is over firmware 2.70 so that rules out the teach method.

 

But I cannot find a currency file and software to update it with as it is no longer supported by IT, does one exist?

Oh no. Sorry to rub this in I do have one its my master nv4 parallel All new notes its got the 2008 macro/firmware on it. I need to find my DA1 programmer and fingers crossed copy it and flash yours. Can`t promise any thing at the moment tho
