Isn't it supposed to be today or around this date. Supposed to 'save' the arcade industry, but I can't see this working another 3 dozen dond clones each taking £500+ to get a flat mega streak although having said that wouldn't mind having a go on the £100 partytime [piccies over at jackpottyforums] still set on £25jp with a 100 streak on one credit apparently

It's a silly move this... The only thing that can save the arcade industry is lower licencing fees for the operators!!
Just out of interest - if an arcade say wanted to run an old £15 jackpot machine, would they have to pay the same licence fee as a new £100 machine?
If so there really should be a range of stake/jackpot settings that operators could use for varying fees (lower jackpots = lower annual licence fee). This way arcades could attract back casual gamers.

there is no license fee kill crazy its now MGD where 20% of the gross from each machine goes to them instead of a license fee

I want photos of a £100 machine! Not been in the club for a couple of weeks but wouldn't surprise me if they'd upgraded theirs to £400. Used to be £250 @ 25p/50p/£1 stake (QPS Happy Hour so very recent machine, I imagine it'll be upgraded as a matter of course).
Maybe this £400 increase will lead to businesses clearing out £250 stock which isn't going to be upgraded, which could be interesting for second hand buyers / collectors. Probably means my QPS Club Clouseau is now worthless

another thing is the £5 jp being increased to £10 20p play if so that could maybe save the amusement sector as you'll prob get casual gamblers like myself having a punt a bit more like the old days when it was increased from £8 to 10/15 gone full cycle

I'm out of the loop but here were the original proposals, I doubt anything has changed. At the time this document came out (October last year) the proposal was to keep reel-based (fruit machines) on £5/10p all cash, and only increase the stakes and prizes available in coin pushers.
I didn't realise clubbers were going up to £2 per play for £400 jackpot, in my opinion that's a ridiculous move. Why not just double stakes and prizes giving £2 for £500? I'd imagine that would be easier to code?!

There's no point in fiddling with Cat D. In some ways they've shot themselves in the foot with the horribly streaky profile of them - fine for hardcore players but no good at all for casual play. I've lost count of how many £25+ streaks I've had out of £5 machines - and that's not including the Golden X e.t.c. which are frankly awful for casual players and would probably put them off for life.
A £10 jackpot would probably be OK if they clamped down on the profiles and made them more sensible - at £10 JP I'd like to think you could expect a JP for £20 in, unlike many of today's £5 machines where you can literally put £30 in without a jackpot.

So funny.
Well done reflex for not adding a £100 value on the feature.
Fail.
