Just read the tutorial for downloading Amber and running your 1st game within it, but forgive me for being slow

but looking through approx. 1-20 steps in order to run it and it is confusing the hell out of me and giving me a headache

just reading it.

I have got as far as downloading it and then clicking run, where it appears in a toolbar and this is as far as I can get.

Is there a member here who could take me through some easy steps as to what to do next and how to run a game?

I'm not the most technical man in the world and reading the tutorial I feel isn't helping me at all.

Many thanks.

It's after I click download and then click 'open'

I then get a toolbar up with the Amber download.

What do I do next?

Double click the icon?

Right click it?

I'm not sure.

Ok you have to download Amber to your desk top then follow the guide, you have to click download and then save for it to save to the computer.

To extract it right click on it and select extract files.

then I get error DX8VB.DLC come up saying it can't run as not on my computer (whatever that means)

and I am now stuck!

Once you have unzipped the amber installer double click on the amber installer and then follow the guide.if your getting errorsafter clicking on the installer you may need to contact guitar. If your running windows 7 you need to right click on the installer and run as Administrator.

Right then, I have tried to run it as administrator and it is still coming up with

DX8VB.DLC error cannot run as missing from your computer.

I am running this on a laptop windows 7 and wandering if there is something missing from my computer, hence it won't allow it to run.

Definitely getting stuck big time now and really struggling.

HELP!

Sounds like DX8VB.dll is missing. This should be installed by the installer.

Check the following

1) Right Click the installer and select "Run as administrator" to ensure the file copy isn't being blocked.

2) Ensure the windows folder location is being detected correctly when prompted by the installer.

3) Make sure it is detecting a 32 or 64 bit system correctly when prompted by the installer.

Just downloaded Direct X as directed by Richy's link onto my pc now.

I have also followed all 3 of Guitar's instructions.

I then click 'run as administrator' then I am prompted to hit 'run' or 'cancel'

I am then hitting 'run' and then get same error of DXL missing from computer.

Any clues here?

I don't see how I can install this DXL via the installer if it won't let me install it in the first place.

Not having a good time with this at all.
