Hi

Can ANYONE PLEASE tell me if the roms for psycho cash beast are available yet?? I am only asking this because it has been nearly a year since I last asked this question, so maybe they have been emulated now??. Also, I am sick of playing on the dx layout with the 'bangin away' ROMS - it is so crap - can somebody plz help me!!??

I would appreciate this greatly. :D

*sigh* here we go again look if MPU5 had been emulated dont you think that the homepage would just FULL of machines that are pretty brand spanking new? all the classic barcrests that we would all love to play such as monty python, arabian nights etc?

I think we can do without users that are going to come once a year to see if MPU5 is emulated and speak about other peoples efforts like that. Someone went to the effort to make a VERY GOOD compromise with a PCB layout using cloned ROMs, and if you don't appreciate that, don't bother playing it, or posting at all.

I know Hurtand, you try and help them and they still keep asking the same questions...funny really as we could save them the trouble of posting and being flamed :)

Still, as said before, gives PG something to reply to, and we can't have him out of a job :)

Hmmm. Is it any wonder there aren't many posts from new users, when questions are answered in such an arrogant manner? These forums seem to have a clique-ish feel about them, a bit like the NME "Angst" messagebord...

Hmm maybe if the new users did read the knowledge base we put in place for them we wouldnt have such abusive replies.

Either way - They read it they understand they dont post everyones happy
-They dont then they are open to my abuse.

(of course i direct this at people who signed up to ask for party time etc. most of the new people on the site are great but its the small % of them that only want whats not available that this applies to)

If people could be more courteous then such replies will not come about - the same applies if a machine is borderline in terms of age - i.e a Barcrest from 1996.

However, when someone insults the effort that a designer has put into make what is IMHO a damn good 'compromise' layout, I wouldn't be at all surprised if other members flamed the user.

I personally try to educate users rather than flame, but the users that tend to ask in an appropriate manner are much more likely to use the 'search' functions and non have to ask such a question in the first place.

If PG gets totally out of hand, I'll make sure someone locks him is his cage [it would be RB but I haven't a clue where the old chap has gotten too... :-( ], but I don't think anything he says is honestly that offensive.

pgamblin, why are you so angry at everyone? were you beat up a child? no friends? so you sit behind a screen and bollock everybody who does something wrong, cause you a failure in life yourself?

if you dont like somebodys question, just dont answer it. as for the mpu5 PLATFORM, do you really think barcrst will use it forever?

stop keep flaming everybody who posts something wrong, bencrest has got the right idea with some gentle friendly advice, to merely put people on the right track, not like yourself that can make newbies feel arkward and not wanted.

its just my point of view, and really doesnt need a reply.

Let's face it.

Those people who post here without reading the Knowledgebase first, usually get a decent response from the people here, with a link to the knowledgebase.

On the other hand, people who only post here once a year to see if their favourite modern machine is emulated yet (when he probably had it explained to him last year when he posted) are not interested in the scene, and have no intention of contributing to it.

They are simply looking for something for nothing.

His best bet would be to post in about 5 years time.

It's not just how long Barcrest will use it for Nails.
After they stop using it, the machines on MPU5 will no doubt still be around for quite a while, and it's only when they are rarely in use AND the coders decide to implement it into an emulator that we will see it.

If you add all that together, it could well be many years.

Smiley.

well i take it that this only applies to barcrest, that i,s i and have many others, have had layouts before they should be released, papparazi to name but one, and nobody complained about that.

enough said, lets all look at a new topic.

btw, i was looking at ways to change the text that is displayed on the alpha. the rom i used was for crystal maze, but it looks like the code on the rom is encrypted, and is only decrypted whilst in memory. the idea was to change text ie, pook and jpm proudly presents -

any clues?

It doesnt need a reply but i think you need one.

Firstly im not angry at anyone, I get angry because people take the time and effort to put in place guidelines and knowledge article and they just get ignored by people who are not interested in the facts and just want to know where they can get Party time or empire roms. I personally look after a huge knowledge base at work and everyone reads the articles and knows whats going on.

Secondly i wouldnt class myself as a failure in life, i am married (could be classed i supose) new house, first child on the way, very good job with very good salary, good qualifications in my job, so not really a failure.

Also you say if i dont like the question dont answer, if you go back 6 months i was answering every question with a whitty and sometimes arrogant reply, now i reply once a week. If thats too much for you to handle then i dont apologise but dont take it to heart.

I've watched this FME community grow from the early days and have always been known for making a laugh or joke out of someone who asks all the wrong questions. Your critism really doesnt bother me one bit and anything you say will in no way alter anything i do here.

Back in the days we all used to do the same thing and if not for Ady and others becoming moderators we still would be.

stop keep flaming everybody who posts something wrong, bencrest has got the right idea with some gentle friendly advice, to merely put people on the right track, not like yourself that can make newbies feel arkward and not wanted.

I tried being friendly but it didnt work. maybe the new people just dont understand that we work to make sure they enjoy the fme scene knowledge base or not if they ask the wrong question they will get the wrong answer.

I recommend you lookup Rmoore's posts when he was on this scene and then justify just who is being a tit to the new members.

Some have it coming others are genuinly asking questions that warrant a bad reply.

Besides i dont flame everyone who asks, most of the time i will add a simple reply that says hmm you might wanna check the knowledge base and then add a link. Flaming ?? perhaps not.

Before you think im some 15yr old with no mates who gets a kick out of taking the piss out of people who are new to something you are very very wrong. My contribution to FME might not be 1000 layouts but over the years i have helped 100's of people (as well as slag the odd one or two off) Ask Ady, RB, Fruitymad or anyone else from previous years and you will see.
