When I got an MPU4 Mod4 board for my machine I couldn't believe how badly damaged the battery area was, many components in the immediate area had been battered and some had corroded away. I tried it in my machine anyway and couldn't believe that it actually worked and still does. The only problem is that the ram state is never saved on the machine for obvious reasons.

Indeed, machines nowadays for me are all about the big money, I prefer playability

Put new board in, also had a brief error flash on monitor seriel error? then back to mpu4 not ready, the buzzing is there still when I unplug the program module that goes into the mpu4 I know I don't get mon signal, however the buzzing stops?? Apparently it could be a power supply issue??

So the question is do you think its the power supply as when I close the door a bit hard the lights do flicker, or do you think its the program module that slots into the mpu4 board

Is the serial cable good? sound like communication is not occurring for some reason. Have you checked the PSU fuses? I've had a complete white screen before and one of the small fuses on the PSU had blown. You didn't unplug the mpu4 module while the machine was on did you?
J
Can you upload a video of the machine being switched on?

Unplugged cable put in again. Not sure if power or cartridge. But did not unplug module while on. buzzing stops when cartridge is out. Will upload video but just loud buzzing and alarm mpu4 not connected shown on screen. Ifbi clise door hard briefly lamps lit then off again

Is it deffo a good board you got as replacement?
Could try clearing the ram, hold both sides of battery with pair of pliers, 2 spoons or something will do as long as shorting the battery.
Short battery for about 3 secs, machine off & unplugged of course.
I had nothing but murder with my poker, screen had blew, mpu4 had blew, wouldn't take tokens, metal was full of like about 100 stone chips like what you would see on a car, converted to lcd, was a expensive nightmare, cheap £1 cans of spray paint I re-sprayed it with is now cracking & peeling in places (hammeright next time), but worth it in the end to me

Hey if you wanted to post both modules out to me including serial cable, I will check them out on my setup and reburn the software on for you if required. This way we can rule out any problem with the actual software. This is an option for you if you can't get it resolved.
Let me know if you'd be interested in this option.
