Huge thanks goes out to Guitar for getting System83 emulated on Amber, and also technical assistance whilst making the layout.  And also huge thanks to Stuart, for the excellent pictures he provided. :)

Wow and wow and OMG!

I am blown away not just by the release of the slot but also by the few comments and replies made :err:

Clearly a lot of members must be too young to remember this gem of a slot. :nah:

I never thought I would ever see this again, and especially not as an emulation-So all my birthdays have come in one day :radar:

I last played this in a back street arcade in Blackpool around 15years ago!!,the arcade was bout a mile from the pleasure beach-the arcade is now sadly a bric a brac shop and closed down pre 2010.

Ive just got to figure out how to get Amber running,I did download a version but I know it's the wrong one lol.

I have so much of my time now taken up by my uncle and family, that I rare get to visit the site.

I will read Vectra's tutorial and hopefully get it running asp.

Ploggy and Guitar you are both legends and we are so not worthy :notworthy:  :notworthy:

Thank you so much for bringing to life, what is without question my no1 slot ever made.

Jay

Guys sorry if I am missing something, but the download only has 1 file which I believe is the layout, where can I find the ROM?

No, mate.  You're not missing something.  It looks like the roms are indeed missing from the download link.  It looks like the download section doesn't like more than one archive attached, even though it showed two archives attached when I originally uploaded the layout/roms. :(

Get the roms from this post until I try and fix the original download link.  Otherwise I'm going to have to include the roms in the archive with the layout.

EDITED TO ADD:  Well, I've sort of fixed the original download link.  It now shows both the layout, and roms archives when you click on the 'Download' tab.

I'll have to pack the roms, and layout in the one archive from now on.  Thanks for pointing out the error to me. :)

Thank you Dean for this stunning layout. It will spur me into updating Amber and having another bash at getting it running on my PC.

As Jay above this is without a doubt my favourite BFM of all time. I am a Barcrest man through and through but did have a soft spot for this one. Indeed, just 3 weeks ago I played this very machine and was looking forward to it as a highlight of the trip, not having even seen one since 1986. Sadly my play was cut short as, of all ironies, first spin, I got the 3 swags, escaped with 8 nudges and nudged in he jackpot. Golden rule, win jackpot first spin, walk away. I didn't even get to see bonzo! I then got caught in an MPU3 trance and that was it. :-(

Fantastic days.

Gazza

Anyone know why Aladdins and Frankenstein are not showing in latest release(one with April Fool joke). Although I should add this is the first time I got it to work so more than happy to have some of these working!

BTW does anyone remember the 2p version of this Cops, remember seeing it once down Hemsby. Maybe cat and mouse related?

If the .pad file is in the folder (.pac files don't count) and it doesn't appear in the list, the layout has become corrupt in some way and you should re-download the layout.

I have re-downloaded and the same thing happens. With Aladdin there is no .pad file though, just a .pac and the 4 layout files.(Same with Frankenstein).

I have to report that I have just had success with my first Amber layout.  And it was this one.  Thanks very much Guitar and Dean for bringing this awesome machine to my screen for me to play this afternoon.  I had a good bash - had £3 drop straight in, a couple of gambles to £3 and just had 20 nudges.  It was being very tight with robberies though.  When you can't escape with 2 nudges you know you're in trouble.

Thanks to Vectra for his guide, followed that and it ran first time.

P.S. Guitar, tried online mode and it sayd password error, so I haven't  clue.  Is it server issues or have I got the wrong password?  Sorry for the thread hijack. :(

From experience of playing the real machine, it was usually fairly tight. Getting to the end of the trail was rare...
I suppose it does depend on how the machine is set up though.

Ive just tried the pac file in Frankenstein and no joy.

Does anybody else have bit map problems?? I can load up the games eventually but thats after getting rid of the error message by clicking the error box several times.

Aside the few teething probs,it has to be said that Amber is an amazing emulator, the slots graphics and game play are stunning and so authentic.

Pac file format is the old layout you need the pad file format now to run Amber games you can get them from Guitars skydrive.
