Pac file format is the old layout you need the pad file format now to run Amber games you can get them from Guitars skydrive.
Cheers
They need removing then from the downloads section and updating.

P.S. Guitar, tried online mode and it sayd password error, so I haven't clue. Is it server issues or have I got the wrong password? Sorry for the thread hijack.
The server crash lost 4 or 5 names and passwords, looks like you were one of them. I will redo your account and PM details.

Ive just tried the pac file in Frankenstein and no joy.
Does anybody else have bit map problems?? I can load up the games eventually but thats after getting rid of the error message by clicking the error box several times.
Aside the few teething probs,it has to be said that Amber is an amazing emulator, the slots graphics and game play are stunning and so authentic.

I had the bmp image error on alladins cave last night everytime it left for raffle bingo etc...

as said above maybe the existing amber layouts pre pad.file should be re uploaded in the new format and wil the other be included maybe in a big zip file one for the layout pad.files, one containing the roms maybe

Many thanks! Aladdin and Frank N stein working fine. All those other roms etc in there, do they work on Amber?

This might be worth mentioning since Gemini17 asked me about it. There are two different sound settings for this which change a few of the tunes. Some folks might be playing this thinking that a few of the sounds are different to how they remember them. If you want to use the alternate sounds you need to put dip switch 8 on. On the top row.

Stuart and I were wondering about that. Good to know its a DIP setting and not an emu issue.

The games do load up just takes 38-48 clicks of the error box for them to do so

This is the first new layout I have downloaded in ages. I remember it being the first machine I played with a little fun attached to it.
Ah those were the days, a time when you could by a pint and still have change out of a pound to lose in the machine.

I've updated the layout in the downloads to work on the newest version of Amber (1.0908). If you're using the newest version of Amber you can either re-download the layout again, or change the reel setting yourself and save the existing layout.
The new reel settings are in the picture attached. The offset needs changing, the reels need to be set to 'Reverse' and the Opto numbers need changing as well.
