Hi, i would like to know what sort of attachment i would need to upload a .hex file onto a mpu5 game card?

its psycho cash beast club, and i've been gratefully found the £1000 files for it, would putting a .hex file straight onto the game card work? or does it need to be changed to rom before moving across?

It will need 2 hoppers for a start!

You will need a blank set of chips and I think you will need to burn a PIC chip aswell as im guessing the CHR address will probably differ with it being a differnt ROM set.

I dont think the later flash cards are compatiable with the rom set your trying to upload so that probably wont work :/

aww so its probably a no go :(

the whole layout inside the machine will need changing, i can do a DIY job to increase the hopper size as necessary, but if it detects for 2 hoppers then its game over

We do have v2.0 running in mfme, it's possible it uses the same chr chip.  Does your game card have a flash rom instead of regular eproms?  I would have thought it would be eproms, this machine is fairly old now.

If you look on the game card just under the RED switch there will be a gap for a CF Flash card........

Dont know why im saying this as I know it wont have one :D

okayyy fair enough, i know from not even looking it hasn't got a gap, its the got stake/prize and percentage keys, obviously empty. but apart from that its just the test switch.

what difference does that make to the ability to upgrade it?

You need to crack the game card open.  It has a latch either side and does come apart, can be a bit stiff, but you need to get into it and you should find 4 game eproms, they will have writing on them.

I'll PM you later today.

Would getting a new game card be fine to do?

Don't want to jeopardise the ability to play the current machine with the chance of playing it with bigger stake/prize?

Would that be possible?

See how much I earn over the next week but the prize to whoever supplies a working game card with pcbc casino roms may well have increased to £100,

Hopefully if this gets sorted this topic could be pinned for others trying to do the same?

You need the correct chr, the one in your card should be ok to put the different version on. Your card should definitely have eproms. They are removable.

If the 250 version works in the 1000 layout then the chr is the same, if not you will have problem finding a chr for sure.

I've just checked and you won't need a different chr chip, so your card should be upgradable to the £1000 software, which is version 2.0.  What version is yours by the way, the software revision?

my card reads 1.0, but the actual software is 2.0, it looks like they're pop out jobs, which is a bonus as soldiering, on a motherboard, incredibly hard to do without breaking the entire thing!!!

would you be kind enough to help me out with it :)?

or are the eproms like modern day RAM (pop outable)

if they can just be popped out then I'm no longer worried about the current game being ruined, because it simply would be a case of popping out and back in again

is this the correct eprom thingy to buy?
