Reece I have an older scorpion 4 with same acceptor, my opinion so far is either 123456 is not the BNV or check the white cc talk wire is connected right back to board. I suspect it is as you get the error. Mine is not 123456 and other luminas I have had we're not either. You do mention on your video you took a sticker off?
The inhibit dil on MPU is nothing to do with BNV part and switch 7 on only lumina is right for the setup on the video for cc talk. You do look to be connected correctly.

Be good to see what this one is, don't suppose you have another acceptor to test?

There is only one other thought which is the older scorpion 4 had a small security cc talk PCB check it's their usually mounted under the main MPU, mine has it. Cheers, Martin

Unfortunately I don't have another acceptor to test, however, before I took off the sticker and revealed the one underneath it said 123456, which I assume to be the BNV. Everything seems to be corrected fine on the board. I've tried it with the DIL switch off, and still no luck. If the BNV isn't 123456, then what on earth could it be, because it's not the one underneath the sticker I pulled off?

I have tried both Serial and Parallel and no luck.

Yes it must be that then - just try the BNV rest once more, way I do it is power off machine, turn DIL 6 on the Lumina (leave 7 on too), power on the machine, wait say 5 seconds then turn DIL 6 off on the lumina - now when the machine fully powers up go into test and try BNV once again. You do not need to remove the game card. If you get Key Valid, a power off and on is required and you are away.

Did you double check the loom had the white cc talk cable right back to the connector bottom right of the S4 board? and does there look to be the small PCD or a perhaps blank plug where its never been fitted?

If that fails I have a test unit you are welcome to borrow.

The other BNV you could try is the last 6 digits of the serial number?

You also mentioned Error 17, I assume if you take the Lumina off (disconnect it) the machine boots up and works error free?

Reece I just watched your video again and the BNV did not look like 123456 to me, its the silver sticker above where you pointed? I could not see it clearly but it looked like a different number - try that one?

Thanks for all your help, I have tried the BNV underneath the sticker I peeled off, and no luck with that, however, I will try resetting the acceptor, and re-checking the loom (also sorry for the late reply).

I've managed to get it working, I've found the right BNV code, but every time I restart the machine, it still has the previous money on there, how can I clear this?

Reece, What do you mean previous money? and was the BNV code the one on the silver sticker?

Yes it was, and by previous money I mean the recently inserted credits, I want to clear them?

The machine holds that information even if you turn the power off (battery and RAM), easiest way is just play them off? you could clear via a full RAM clear (via test menu) but best to just play them off I'd say, or if in the bank press collect. cheers, glad its working for you

If I clear the RAM via the test menu, will it clear the BNV information?

No, but you will have to re-float the hopper, set the volume etc.

Sure, I'll just fool it by pressing the hopper full button. Thanks for all your help!

It doesn't seem to have an option to reset the RAM from the test menu, though there is a red reset button on the board?

Have you got a manual with the machine Reece? should explain in there - from memory I think you go in test as normal, scroll through to option test 10.3 - to get to this hold down the 4th button from right (4th along from START) while scrolling through the options (keep it held to get to the extended menus). You have only 5 seconds from getting to the menu to do it - refill key has to be turned then the HOLD buttons illuminate and you have to press them in order right to left. This could be machine specific but give it a go! It will say NVR CLEARED when done. turn refill key off and should be done.
