Must have signed up to something dodgy recently as just started getting lots of emails with viruses removed.

Now some I have received in the past, mimicing the Inland Revenue or a Banking Institution are quite believable and have had effort put in.  But this, well, what do you think?  I don't even think a Yank would fall for it; not even they would be that stupid.

I've had 3 the past 2 weeks from the HMR.co.uk, Saying I'm due for a tax rebate of £304.73 If they are the HMRC why do they want all my details when they need these to work it all out?

Edit: People must fall for it or why would they waste the time getting it sent out?

Easiest way to check if they are fake is to hold the cursor over the heading without pressing anything and it will display the email address that the email was sent from. If it looks dodgy or the email address is not who it says it is then do not open them and never ever get the urge to reply to them.

Come here to post jokes, oh and to play the occasional frutie.

Weirdly a friend on my facebook has just had one of these supposedly from the Inland Revenue giving her one day to reply, Thankfully she didn't and it was fake.

We filter 1000s of these sorts of messages out per hour. It's amazing how much gets sent out and yes, some people do click them.

We instituted a policy last year to block any executable attachments even if they're zipped which catches all of them nicely.

Had a couple of complaints, but better than the potential losses if you run the software...

That is the point I am trying to make. If you are going to try and scam me of my hard-earned at least have the common courtesy of putting some effort into getting your story straight and realistic.

That school really does need to be closed down for falling for something like that. We have a name for clowns like those in charge there. Sweetums. Who is Sweetums? He is the biggest muppet, that's who he is.
