Hi guys well just booted mame up for a bash on wonder boy 
the sound isn't working correct though,it keeps repeating the sample,i'm using windows 8 and ideas? cheers.

Not sure it's a brand new pc from the shop,so wouldn't everything be updated as it should be.

Sorry I can't offer help but I just had to say... Ahh, Wonder Boy. I've been hammering this game lately, it's such a great game. Total classic.
Have you tried disabling triple buffering? Maybe set frame skipping to auto. I had the exact same issues many years ago and can't quite remember how I fixed it. It was settings related because I had switched to a new PC and it wasn't working correctly on the new one.

Oh well, that was lucky. Great stuff
