I'm going to need a test layout or two in the near future (hopefully).

So if anyone has workable art for any of the following, it would be much appreciated...

An MPU4 Plasma Game.

An MPU4 Video SWP. (not crystal maze, that will get looked at later).

An MPU4 BWB Slot.

They will be vital for testing. :D

I've got a couple of background already done for Monte Carlo Or Bust.  I need to dig them out.

EDITED TO ADD MCOB BACKGROUNDS:  Here they are. :)

They look great!

Not important for the test layout but do you have the blue lamped features layer as well?

Also, I can't tell, is the screen square on that or not? Makes no difference for testing, but worth mentioning for the end result at a later date.

Just out of interest, how long have you had those prepared for?

I have BWB Miami Dice glasses here I can probably scan in at some point.  Have you had a breakthrough with BWB vids?

Be great to see this emulated.   I have many boards here and a few carts if you need some help with pics.

J

Yes there should be two red features always and the rest are blue on the main feature board.

Here is an amended one with Blue on, hope Ploggy doesn't mind me doing this.  Scrap it if he has already one done.

I resized the attached backgrounds so the video screen would sit in the space exactly.  On MFME, the video screen by default is set to Width: 504, Height: 296, so that's the size of the space on the background where the video would go.

Blue lamped features you say?  Bugger!  Didn't realise it had two lamps for each feature.  I need to add the blue ones when I get a bit of time.  Should be easy enough to do.

I've had the backgrounds for ages, mate.  I made them when I thought Wizard was about to release a new MFME with working BWB Video support.  How wrong was I! :D  Thread here: http://www.fruitemu....-fuck-me/page-5

Don't mind in the slightest! :)

EDITED TO ADD ORIGINAL FLIER:  Here's the flier that was used to create the backgrounds.  I can't remember exactly where it came from.

^ The artwork maybe has been used for a layout in Wizards emulator I would have thought by now maybe.

J

I will start preparing my Miami Dice glasses, should get a good hi-res set mocked up over the next few weeks, time permitting obviously.

Yeah.  I bet they've been used already by now.  Not that I mind.  If I didn't want them to be used I wouldn't have uploaded them to that thread in the first place.

Glass scans will be a lot better than the flier I used.  Will be fantastic to see two of BWB's iconic video machines emulated finally! :)

I totally agree mate, all the best to him. Shame he didn't release his emulator but I have no problems with Wizard at all and got on with him.

These will be the test layouts for dev purposes, don't get all hopeful just yet, there's still the CHR to get past once the hardware is up and doing its thing.

I've got everything I need in terms of parts, now I just need to assemble it into a tech.

I hope to get a plain MPU4 game running tonight in the dll, then its a case of adding all the extenders, bank switches, etc etc.

Once MPU4 is running I can then try integrating fame (Fast Accurate Motorola Emulator for the 68k) and getting the plasma games going.

Once Plasma Games work I can build on that to add in the MPU4 video, which looks fairly straightforward.

The BWB Characteriser I don't think will cause too many problems, but we'll see soon wont we.

Ok, mate.  The CHR thing might be a stumbling block, but hopefully not too much hassle.  I remember there being a problem with the machines not keeping the right percentage because of it.

Well I've been told its fairly similar to the normal BWB CHR, but obviously a 16 bit version running on the 68k. How true that is i have no idea, but I know what I'm looking for.

As for the percentage thing, BWB did it on their normal fruits as well, its not a hard thing to sort. The reason I had trouble before was because my cpu core had bugs in the branch instructions which had the same effect of screwing the percentage up (and many other things). Thankfully the 6809 I have copied across from Amber is nice and stable now, so no issues there. And even if there has been a bug in my copying, I know the cpu inside out now so debugging is a much less daunting task.

I am trying to get this all done for the next release, so here's hoping.

The characteriser (CHR) is different on Video based games than the normal (non video) games.

What I really need first is one of the Plasma games. Big Chief, Apache, Elite, or Clickety Click.

Doesn't have to be super hi res or anything, just something that can be made to work as a layout so I can see progress with the emulation and know which buttons are  which etc.

The CHR in Amber auto-detects so it will always work.

The CHR for BWB Video will need to be worked out once I get that far.
