are the  "monty python flying circus "sound roms (mpu5)

There is a llayout for " bronze voyage (bwb) possibly the same one?

  as for chin20c that is chase invaders ( not too sure if it's barcrest  or bwb though).

Chase Invaders make perfect sense to me.  Giving a character error on MFME, and when I tried it on Amber it's complaining that the BWB CHR hasn't been set.  So I would assume by that, that it's BWB.

Cheers folks, all those have been added.  I have also changed the Bronze Voyage layout as it is not 100% to be BWB.

I've taken out all the zzz_unk and let MAME rebuild them then I'm using MAME to identify them...... managed to get 115 roms sets 'identified' this way.

 

I'm also going through the remainder of the zzz_unk with notepad to see if anything pops out then failing that I will try and rename the zzz_unk to make more sense.

 

Next dat should have a good update renaming wise..... thanks fellas...

Looking good now.

 

That bleeding Chase Invaders rom now boots on Amber, but it's actually a Barcrest rom and not BWB like I first thought.  The sound roms needed to be loaded with the program rom for it to boot. 

 

Amber has a nifty little EDC  (Electronic Data Capture), that can pick up the manufacturer of any rom that boots on MPU4.  And other techs as well, so it might be another way of getting roms identified if all other options fail.

I'm going to upload this, this is what MAME claims are all Party Time (Astra) - surely looking at the names they are not... wtf is going on lol.....

A bit odd I agree.  I can see 'joker' in the filenames, so it is a bit baffling.  Haze was the one that went through the rom-dat I believe.  Perhaps he can shed some light on the matter?  There must be references to Party Time in the roms somewhere.  No other explanation for it.

Well according to MAME all the games with 'Deal Or No Deal' in the title are clones of each other so matter if it's DOND Think Red or DOND Beat the Banker MAME thinks it's DOND.... I wonder if they use some form of program to identify them, I'm not sure the MAME way is the best way to be honest...

They possilbly are that similar, just a different glass over the machine but according to the manufactures www site they are different and I guess they should know...

Found a rom in the dat that needs renaming.  The rom named 'Bars & Crosses (Bellfruit) [Rom]', should be 'Bar's -n- X's (JPM) [Rom]'.  This is the machine the roms are for.

Cheers mate, I've been through ALL of the zzz_unk today either via MAME or Nopepad/Hex editor etc.  I've added all the roms I've found that are positively renamed here today so once I've merged them I'll bung up a new dat.  I have not included the MAME Party Time roms, I've left them as they are as something is not quite right there.....
