I have two pairs of HI / LO game PROMs

Is it possible to get the PROM IC's from another machine and overwrite them?

I will put a picture below in case I'm talking rubbish...

The £1000 JP PROMs work fine, however the £250 JP gives better game play. Unfortunately the £250 JP ones no longer work. So I was looking to replace them...

Any ideas?

You cant overwrite ROMs as such, but they can be erased using UV light and then re programmed.

The best way of erasing an EPROM is to introduce it to the UV light of a MIG welder strike. I have wiped many Eproms using this method with good results.

Thanks guys, so basically it is possible to re programme them with the right equipment

Is this a service that anybody on here does? Or does anybody have a contact who holds stock of replacements?

Never thought of that. Makes sense though. I might be worried about accidentally frying them though...

Yes. Worth asking Bazpeeb.
