Hi all, i posted a topic last week in the help advice but noticed its in the wrong one. Anyway.... my rainbow riches b3 £500 fruit machine is not booting up. Ive tested everything and it seems the motherboard is knackered. Does anyone have any spares for sale? another member on this forum thinks he may have one so fingers crossed with this. If not looks like il have to get rid of the machine :(

The motherboard on this b3 is a msc g7l330-b

below is a photo of it:

JNC in Bristol sell pc's for these, or they used to, so it might be worth giving them a ring

These motherboards look fairly generic and standard off the shelf kit.  Is there a part number or name printed on the motherboard because you might get a cheap one off ebay or you might be able to use a similar specced motherboard.

Aren't the mobo's in this unit specific? IE It has to be replaced by a like for like model or it will flat out refuse to work? Pretty sure there was another thread on here or the mecca where someone replaced an asrock one with another one (Same model code just missing a G or X off the end) & it refused to take it.

the motherboards and graphic cards are modified specifically by barcrest, so ones bought of ebay I have found just don't work, well they work but wont work with the barcrest software! I currently have modified MK5 asrock motherboards so they do work well, and also have been able to get some graphic cards for the MK5 which after some modifications also now work perfect in the MK5 pc's with no modifications to the existing software.

But rest assured if you do get them off ebay its not a 'plug and play' situation, there is work to do.....

that looks like a MK6 pc to me, having troubles identifying the graphics cards used on them at the  moment, the motherboards are much less reliable than the mk5 or mk4 ones

unfortunately you cannot just use any rainbow riches motherboard. each HD has specific drivers for that type of board.

JNC would be my first port of call

yes 3 drives for 3 different pc's mk4 mk5 and mk 6, the asrock motherboards are mk5, as I say you can't just buy one of ebay and it will work, both motherboards and graphic cards for the mk5 need modifying before they will work, even if you get the EXACT ones! barcrest tied it up nicely!! but they can be modified to work

Only the other day I found a stack of these cards which I forgot about. Yes they need modifying but
Barcrest Rio cards eg the gigabyte Gv-nx62tc256 for the mk5 pc of bought off eBay will work if you flash the original batrcrest graphic cards bios onto it. I have also flashed the Same software on a oem Hp GeForce 6200 PCIE card as well different versions of the original gigabyte 6200tc card used by barcrest. The Gv-nx62tc256d8 and the Gv-nx62tc256de
I did remember someone trying to make out its a very technical procedure as you needed advanced soldering skills which is shite.
I have now 5 fully working graphics cards for the mk5 pc and spare motherboards. My machine is sorted for spares
