Hi all,
Firstly a quick background.
I've been working with Nick 'Sulzerned' repairing MPU's and building up a selection of schematics. We are working on a Super Climber machine but with drawings and test sheets from other earlier machines. As I only have the MPU to work with it's been an interesting journey discovering how to get it to function standalone.
I'm almost finished with the core of the work but I'm really puzzled by the triac section and I'm hoping someone might have an answer.
Looking at the attached schematic that shows the two versions of triac ccts on the board it looks fairly straightforward. Checking on the machine wiring (all done by photos!) and various others on the forum the colours don't match up to what I think they should?
The cct shows the A2 leads of the triacs attached to the loads via the connectors. The A1's to ground. Therefore I assume power must be fed to the other side of the load. In the left hand side triac cct connectors C1&2 are supposedly grounded. The right side ccts however I can't confirm? Also the drawings show solenoids connected to A5 and B3 with a return on B14 which are all A2 pins on the triacs?? Another example is a solenoid across A8 and B12 again both A2 connections?
Surely they wouldn't put two triacs in series in the same cct, would they?
Anyone care to have a stab at this as I'm scratching my head.
