I was wondering if the Triple 777 or even the triple 888 machines would be available to purchase once the coin change in 2017 will force most people to upgrade their machines or sell them on? At present they would be probably well out of my price range but hopefully they would be vastly reduced in price once the coin change happens.

I would also like to know if the Rio Enhanced Machines can still be upgraded to the latest software available? I own 2 machines Grand Casino and Cashino 500 both have 1 main game playing at £1 + at least 13 games in Demo mode. I'd love to be able to upgrade the software to the latest versions and to be able to play them at £0.50 or £1 or even £2 and be the latest version of the games.

My list of games in Demo are

Rocky Balbonus c/d

Rainbow Riches B3

Elvis Top 20 B3

Cashino Cat c/d

Lucky Strike c/d

RR c/d

Grand Casino 7 B3

Monty Python 7 B3

Cashino 500 B3

Grand Casino B3

Elvis Smash Hits c/d

Poker c/d

Plus another game I cannot recall without looking at the list

I'd love to purchase one of the newer versions of the triple 777 encore sit down models with several games on like Rocky Freespins or a standard model even if I have to sell the machines I have to do it.

HI,

I have Rio Enhanced Machine running Rainbow Riches B3.

I cant yet work out what's different from a Rio Enhanced and a 777.  I know visually its different, But Is the 777 just an upgraded PC and maybe updated software?

Does anyone have a 777 cab to answer what the differences are? I would love to try and upgrade my Rio.

Also has anyone come across a .bpak for Rainbow Riches B3 with Pie gamble for enhanced Rio units?

The Enhanced Rio were the previous machines developed by Barcrest They had 1 main game and several games that you could play in demo mode. The triple 777 machine is where each and every game is licensed so you can play several games for cash not in demo mode. If you had a machine with say 4 games on them and you wanted other games you would purchase the game by buying the licence from Barcrest some machines have 2 or 4 or 9 or even 12+ games available but the standard is 4 but most people who are lucky to own one of those machines they have 9 as standard. The triple 888 is similar but you can have main games on them I believe. I do not if you can upgrade your Rio but if you could I would love to. I love playing Rocky Freespins and Rainbow Riches and all its alternatives like Fields of Gold or Pots of Gold etc but now Barcrest have joined SG Gaming the machines are built in Manchester and you would need to contact them for info or ask someone with better knowledge of the triple 777 and Rio capabilities to see if the Rio can be upgraded yours Terry

Different PC, software etc etc, and as Terry says you have to buy a licence for each game (all the newer cabs have all the games already installed but you can't play them without the licence)

As a 'man off the street' Barcrest will have nothing to do with you as a rule.

If you start messing trying to change the PC software in the Rio, you're asking for no end of trouble, as many on here will tell you, it's dangerous enough just adding the extra bpaks, as even when from a reputable source, everything can go tits up in an instant.

What I will never get my head round, is, why buy a Rio, if you're not going to be happy with it?  Yes by all means add the extra games if you wish, to stop boredom, and even get the game cards so you can use real money, like I have, but to want to start trying to turn it into a 777 is beyond me.

As for the RR B3 with pie gamble, it's probably out there somewhere, but I'm sure it will only run on a certain version of the exec file or later (can't remember what it is now though)

If you DO decide to start messing, make sure you have a backup ghost of the HDD, as you'll probably end up needing it.

Thanks for info Terry.
Im going to see what would be required to do it, I suspect the problems id have to overcome would be the PC, note/coin accepter and the game licence. Oh and getting the games.. But this isnt a huge thing. Its worth a try if i could get an idea of requirements from someone.
Ill contact sg gaming to see if I can, and hope I get a response.
Id know if it could be done if I could get to look in a 777

Does anyone have Ranbow riches with pie gambler feature bpak file

Thanks for the info.

Hdd backup done on first day.

For me its a hobby, my background is IT and micro electronics I like to play and make things do things they where never supposed to.
I am very happy with the rio, and it works great, but its just a fruit machine at the moment, I want to see what else I cqn do with it. My mind is also convecerting it into a Jukebox nice easy one to do. Pc in box at bottom 2 port kvm and external speakers. (you can even use the 3m touch screen)

Hello you say you can only play these games in demo only. i have the same machine but all the games play in real mode, they also pay out and take money, the only time the game play in demo is when the door is open, but once the door is close the play like a normal machine. the only problem is with my Cashino £500 it wont load the game, the strange thing is that the game card is a Cashino £500 and the gme wont load, i upload it with another one but still the same problem, if you have a working Bpak file, im more than happy to swop with you as i have most of the bpak files for the Barcrest.  Tonight i found some selling one on ebay but with only 3 games on it. Three games: Cop the Lot, Lucky Lady & Wallstreet Cash all £500 im not sure if its a 777 machine, but it looks the same as the rio.

No, the link was to a Barcrest Rio, that was removed by ebay.

The cashino star at the top of the list, was the nearest match, not the actual machine he was on about.

the barcrest rio cabinet will never unfortunately be upgradable. it was made this way so operators would have to purchase a new cabinet therefore keeping the money flowing to barcrest. triple 777 hasnt quite yet come to the end of its life but its not far from it. ive just installed yet another 3x super repeaters and now their even coming a `new` yet had used/repaired note recyclers fitted as standard. I was about to say t8's would pop on ebay sooner than t777's but they already have.

you could shop around and pick up a t7 for around the £2.5k mark and a t8 around the £6.5k mark.

whilst i still admire the rio cabinets and their games, they now worth over £250+vat IMHO.
