Bought the Monty Python B3 that JNC had in stock - now I'm just hoping it's the Holy Grail one! (if it's not, it doesn't really matter!)  :D

Always wanted one. Up until now I've had an assortment of machines - ones I've thought I'd have a punt on because they were cheap or local, but this is a machine I've wanted for years. Now I've finally ordered one :D

Not cheap, but not a bad price inc VAT and delivery from a proper supplier.

It'll be the usual MPU5 Rio Enchanced cab I assume. No idea when it'll be here but I'll keep you lot informed. Going to get 24 hours notice, but only work a 5 minute drive from work so in theory I can work it around my lunch breaks :)

I'm not even bothered about installing other games. The only one I really wanted was Monty Python. If I'd bought another one, I'd still have to hunt out a Monty Python program card to be able to play it in real mode anyway :)

Well done Ben, hope you're happy with it, when it arrives. ;)

It just goes to show how we all differ in what games we prefer, personally MP is nearly at the bottom of the Rio list for me in the boring/tightness scale, only being beaten by Grand Casino, which is dire to say the least.

But then they can all be crap at times, I play all the games I have till I get a JP and then change game, those two always seem to be installed the longest by far, and by the time I DO get a JP I'm bored sick of it lol.

Make sure we get some pics when it arrives mate pls.

No worries, will sort out some pics when here, probably won't be for a week at least.

Pretty sure it must be one of the 'rarer' Barcrest Rio B3 machines. Have seen no end of Rainbow Riches / Cashino / Grand Casino over the years, but not so many of these. Perhaps they didn't go down well with players, but I just love the theme.

I'm assuming there won't be a note acceptor installed - if there is it's a bonus, if not it'll be something I'll want to sort out ASAP. Having said that I've got a reasonable float here and don't mind using coins for a start.

Surely it'll have a notey on.

For me, Monty Python section 16 was my favourite by a long shot :)

Would love it on Sec 16 software! However, being realistic, I'd imagine it'll stay as B3 for a long time.

May have to hunt about for extra program cards - going to hammer the crap out of Monty Python for ages, but at some point do like the idea of swapping games but keeping the cabinet :D

well done m8.

due to the combination of wins etc. you will find the longevity of the machine is far more than an average £25 jackpot machine. my personal favorite was cashino 500. it could play that for hours and hours and never get bored. There is one at work and it always makes me think of the original s16 software on it and linked progressives!

I had a £500 before but it was a Bell Fruit Random Spinner on B3 rather than Sec 16, and while I enjoyed some mammoth sessions on it, it did bore me to tears. The feature wheel was complete crap and the closest I got to the jackpot was a £20 win gambled red / black to £480 before it auto-collected. I'm hoping this will give a JP at some point with a bit more fanfare and the features are definitely more entertaining  :D

I would actually have preferred the poker one over Random Spinner - can't remember what it was called right now but it had the same wheel feature, albeit triggered on losing hands of poker. I was looking to get hold of a program card to convert it, but gave up and swapped the machine for a Bar X :)

I'm going to stick with my Club Clouseau (30p @ £250), Deal or No Deal 'The Big Deal' (25p/50p/£1 @ £70) and this on £1 @ £500. That way I've got a nice mix of machines.

In some other news, dad seems to really enjoy the DOND - which has cheered me up! Not playing with his own money as neither of us want to profit from the other, but I keep it floated and he knows where my cash is to play it with. He even really likes the look of the Monty Python - again it'll be only my money in it, but it's nice to know he can 'share' in my little machine collecting hobby.

In other news, I'm going to be breaking my Road to Riches for spares to make room - it's a shame but it's not working 100% (I've had to bypass one of the upper door switches for the moment and it's got a dubious history anyway - but was a fun project and nice to get it working!). Will probably keep the glass in it's frame though as for some reason I like keeping the glasses from machines I scrap :D

Here's an update...

There's no update, heard nothing since I sent the home use disclaimer back! Hoping to hear something next week :D

(although I can see payment has gone from my card, so that's a start!)

I've got a JCM EBA 22 if you need a note acceptor for it. I'm pretty sure thats what got installed on these machines. £20 + P & P would sort that. Let me know if you need it :)

Turned up today, and it seems to be DOA. Well, not completely dead - both screens display 'check input' messages and I can hear some fans, but that's it.

Any advice or suggestions would be very much appreciated as I'm absolutely gutted.

I'm sure JNC would have tested it before sending it so I'm hoping it's just something silly, but I have no idea about this tech and don't want to bugger it up even more :(

pc dead

both screen say `self test` or words to that effect?  monitors are working fine but their is no input. of course both monitor leads could have fallen out of the pc but it highly doubt that as if one lead falls out it f***s the HD screen config so they twisted in tight.

it could be a faulty power supply in the pc - thats covreed by the warranty

it could be a faulty switch - click/press the button under the main PC inside the machine

it could be a component loose inside the pc (due to transit) - check if their is a warranty seal, if not remove it and check (buy yourself a cheap power supply from pc word while your there and replace the PSU)

the fans are from the back of the unit, indicating power is present and most probably the MPU is online - just no PC

believe me, if fix these bloody rio units every day!

Thanks for all the advice, after a little probing though I'm going to get JNC to sort it out. I don't blame them for the fault, but at the same time I paid good money (including a disgusting £75+VAT for an unknown courier who didn't leave any paperwork) and am left with something totally unusable.

Either want another one, or a full refund, as no way in hell was the courier worth that. I could have sorted out Hadfields for less.

Just shows the amount of people selling fruits now who have no interest in them.
Different suppliers I know but still!

Had no idea you and Spa had received knackered ones too. Like you say they are from different suppliers, but did you two both get good results in the end?
