I recognise a few of the names but no doubt more have arrived.

Can't believe it's 12 years ago that I made my first layout.

Anyway, been away from the scene for a while, work took over.

Got BT Infinity at home so what's the quickest way of getting a new set of emulator, layouts, etc?

What the f*** is it these days? Back in the day, you used to whizz of some (double the amount needed as a thank you) blank DVDs/CDs to the North East and some kindly chap would post them back. f*** eBay, I'm not paying after what I've contributed to the scene (including bed and breakfast for DialTone way back when).

So in short, hello, back for at least the immediate future, how do I get back up to date with the latest version of MFME and layouts/roms?

Thanks in advance.

It real is trial and error with the slots and depends on the speed of your pc etc.

Ive found some slots work better in an emu not specified by a layout creator-but yet again it does depend on the speed of your pc.

Out of interest which slots did you emulate??

Hello! I think geddy offers a dvd service still. As Gemini says what did you release all those moons ago.
Mpu5 and scorp4 Layouts are mainly compatible with mfme 9.4-10.1 older techs mainly 3.2 or lower.

Hi and welcome back, as vectra says Geddy offers the DVD Service there is a thread on here somewere about it.

The download section has been split up so it tells you what emulator you will need i.e 9xxx is scorp 4 and MPU 5 which is MFME 9.4 upwards.

Hope this helps.

Real is good to hear from a past creator and be able to thank them for all the hours of entertainment they have given to me and countless emu members.

Yes, look for Geddy, but you might remember him as Trouty.

Again as Gemini posts it's great to actually thanks a creator of past layouts probably ones from the beginning of Fme time, what happened to your creator badge! Did you get one. And do you plan to get back into creating again?

I don't think I ever got one/was bothered. I was probably hanging up my mouse about the time they came out so didn't consider it worth asking for one.

Do I plan to get back into creating? Yes. Will I actually do it? Don't know. I've got a far better job than I had ten years ago and time doesn't always allow. That said, my kids are now of an age (bloody teenagers) where they usually prefer their own company than mine so their may be opportunities in the autumn/winter once they're back at college/school to get into it again. I've still got the required tools - Photoshop, a scanner, a study and a supply of good coffee - so I may well get back into it. If I do, I'll probably pull a website together to get it all organised; something in itself that is so much easier to do these days.

Cheers. Where should I be focusing my development efforts going forwards? This Amber that's in your sig, is that guitar's VB-based emulator? Is that the one that I should be looking at rather than MFME?

They are all still around, some on Fruit Forums moe than here, others visit here infrequently too. I saw RHM logged on here last night I think and Jaffa pops in with his drama llama piccie when it all kicks off. WAC visits here at Christmas and occasionally throughout the year. There is a good video of Fishta eating a stupidly hot chilli over at FF at the moment and Pook still hangs around. Also there will be many other names you remember and some you would probably rather forget.

@mark Amber is still in its infancy although version1 went online it brought a new level to emulation with realistic better play as you played the fruits as if you were in a real arcade, so if you rolled a machine the next online member would play it and probably lose also had mini games bingo and spin the wheel very addictive I can tell you. Amber2 is gonna be a lot better, read up on the current amber topic. Mfme though there's still layouts to be done many classics to dx if artwork is available, that's the hard part. But there's still gems to be found like my next release terminator and last dx trick or treat even for a relatively newbie creator like me .

But when Amber goes mainstream that's where it'll all be happening in my eyes. but we all must be thankful for mfme which has roots within Amber still.

Then there,s the epoch emulator being worked on by killcrazy that's another story!!!

So FME isn,t dead just yet, just dormant for a bit.
