Those top notch mistakes you make, which make you laugh looking back at them. My top 3 are: (all from experience)
1. Being Greedy - Jackpot is already won (had "done the job" on Italian job), had extra life. Thought process was "might as well carry on, can't lose anything as i had extra-life", a few roles of the die later, and landed on ? (mystery), it gave me collect prize of step to nearest (cherries). Bugger.
2. Loss of concentration - doing alright on the board, get nudges to bring in the symbols, not paying attention, suddenly i've nudged in cherries by mistake. Suffer the indignity of collecting a pound.
3. Bad Luck / Bad Preparation - Basically....9 reel blasts, jp symbol in sight, collect blasts, guarenteed jp.....this is when you find out some bulbs are blown, and the lcd display doesn't give anything away, and you end up guessing the win.
Any other nominees?

PLaying jewel in the crown about 5 years ago in a pub in derby.
Me and my m8 playing
All of a sudden three jackpots apair above the win line and its says hold all to win
we both jump onto the buttons
my hands got there first pushing his hands out of the way.
massive crack on the classs where the reels are the alarm went off and we never won the jackpot
bitch!

One of my classic mistakes if when playing a machine and you are offered holds, I tend to hold these buttons down and keep them pressed while pressing start, and on machines like Homer's Meltdown, nudge sequences happen instantly without a sound beforehand, and since I have the buttons held down, it nudges the reels instead of holding them..
I hate it when I do that

I only ever used to make mistakes when being spotted - mind you, I was probably the only person here that took £250 in coins to a pub? Used to be funny, I'd just turn around and say 'you'll be in for a long wait, and I'm not leaving it until I get a ton'
Which I used to get, even if it did cost £125 to get it used to piss them right off
Yeah, I made the mistake of pressing the hold buttons just before nudges were offered, used to do that the most. Don't remember many other mistakes....although I did let myself get into situations like that mentioned above - on £15 and get forced onto a Collect Prize [happened a lot on recent stuff, Vamp it Up, that kind of thing]

vamp it mistakes were classics, like going for red boost whilst not thinking of what you would get if the board went red (ie + red features that took you past the first red feature)
skillstopped a jackpot on pharoes gold (no skill just pure luck) but missed the 4th jackpot by one.. bugger £250 down the pan)
best is usually when you got crowd and you miss a really easy skillstop.. makes you feel that big..

Noticed that on All Fired Up, but that was in the Horizon [the ribbed cabinet ], whereas I think the buttons were the right way round in the tall Genesis cabinet

prolly just not realising when games such as the great escape and spotted dick are running... cause during the run on some features it would kill you then resume the next feature...
i always just left after it killed me :-(
