just spoke to my local arcade owner - the takings are phenominal.. its just like a club machine in respects that you really gotta go with a wedge in your wallet to have a stab at the jp.

apparently Barcrests range (for some reason are all Elvis machines) are ALL rental only - due to the licence fee for the Elvis artwork etc. which is good for site owners as if the machine doesnt do well.. just get rid of it.

The S16 games by Astra are the ones that are taking the money, namely Mega Slot and Party Games Slotto. Both are video-based games. I've seen some reel-based stuff about, mainly by Reflex Gaming, but the takings are mediocre compared with PGS, although being rebuilds the cost per unit is low. The Elvis stuff from Barcrest is very average in terms of takings.
As well as these, Magic Games 2 by Novomatic is another popular game, and the ones in my area are capable of taking four-figures in a week.
Watch out! There's a SIG thief about...

Yes this is the future folks, MUCH AS it pains me to SAY it.

I know Barcrest have just bought the ELVIS (uhu) licence and so it'll be ELVIS all the way to Las Vegas. Well Europe anyway, have Barcrest made it over the Atlantic?

So Astra are the market leaders at the moment with Novamatic (had anyone heard of these in 2004?) hot on their heels.

Party Time Slotto paid out two jackpots (£500) when it came into my local arcade in the first week. Not wanting to endorse playing it in any way, but this does seem like something of a trend! I have received two seperate reports of the same thing happening in other parts of the country. Not paid a jackpot since though and we're talking weeks here of heavy play, so be warned.

I imagine despite its 94/96% minimum, it'll take the most money. Gambling is all about greed and with £500 jackpot and £2/spin (?) surely this'll be the big earner.

WHAT A FUNKIN' BAG OF POO.

Incidentally I lost a quid on this. Mega poo. 96p of my money lining someone else's pocket...aaarrrgggh it's too much! Somebody put me out my misery! 4p of my money being distributed amongst tax revenue and pure...<BANG>

Robin: It had to be done. he was droning on. Normal service will be resumed at a later date.

I'm not sure about who actually owns the license - Barcrest Group [UK], or it's owner, IGT [who are pretty huge, check out www.igt.com for more details]. If IGT own the license, I reckon Americans could expect a number of Elvis machines aswell :)

Thats another funny thing.... Astra is part of the 'Novomatic group of companies' - hence Astra is owned by the company that operates Magic Games machines :D

Sure that helps to put things into perspective .... :)

pretty sure its just the barcrest name that has bought the elvis audio rights.

the party slotto machine in our arcade paid out nearly 2 grand in its first week.

oh yeah it made 2500 in notes alone and about a grand in £1 coins.

Good point, banks are totally useless these days :)

[Halifax REFUSED to cash up £200 in £1 coins, all bagged up perfectly, even though I was the only customer in there - they directed me to the arcade I had come from, and already been refused notes from!!]

In the end they said they'd do £100 there, and £100 tomorrow. Great customer service [although to be fair I bet most other banks are just as bad now!]

Its definitely just the Halifax. I used to work for them, until I decided I wouldn't treat people in the way they forced me to. So I upped and left.

To counter this, they froze my bank account for 3 weeks pending "security checks".

They are absolute assholes.

I take my 6 year old daughter with me when I bank coins at the Halifax, they allow you to pay in as many bags as you want into kids accounts so you pay them in and then transfer to your own account.
It really pisses them off.

Lol, I do tend to drag forums off topic like this, but great to see that other people have the same experiences as me.

I told them [at the counter] I needed new login details for the internet banking service. The person behind the counter bashed away at her keyboard and said 'No problem, they will be with you within 7 working days'. After a month I pop in, and ask where they have gotten to, and I am told they will try again, and they have gotten lost in the post.

After another month or so [for arguments sake, 50 days since I raised the query], I asked AGAIN where the login details were. I was told that they didn't know why I hadn't received them, and to ask the manager. When I found her, she informed me [bluntly, without even the slightest hint of an apology],

'If you lose the details, we use THIS phone [pointed at phone], and we tell YOU to call the people, after we check your ID, and THEY give you new details. WE DO NOT do anything like that by post, and NOONE at THIS BRANCH has told you otherwise'.

Mind you, she started paying attention when I kicked up one hell of a fuss [I don't take being talked to like that lightly after waiting 50 days!], infront of the customers :D

I'm sorry, I've dragged this way off topic again :D

I do have ONE question for those that operate these machines - I understand the Magic Games machines were known to have 'dodgy ROMs', which made them play more like a £250 AWP [i.e suck for £400, payout £250]....are these Party Times Slotto machines displaying a similar profile, or do they genuinely seem 'random'?

we are told by deith leisure and astra that they are totally random but the 94% that the machine displays is the average payout that £2.00 a spin generates over a long period of time.
