I’ve noted the retirement ad on the home page asking “do you have a £250,000 portfolio.”
Well I just checked my bank account…damn it, Sods Law, I’ve only got £249,962. Any generous sole out there that can lend me the £38 I need to take up this wonderful retirement opportunity. I promise to pay you back…with 400% interest, honest.
I am well aware of a web sites need to necessitate advertising as a source of income.
However, the vast majority of members on here are either current gamblers, or those who have had a problem gambling in the past, which does not bode well for bank balances. We download games because we can’t afford to buy dozens of machines, even if they were available. Nor do we have the space of a convenient arcade room extension that we have built on to our property at xxx expense to house them.
Shouldn’t an advertiser be more vigilant, and target consumers who are more likely to be seduced by their campaign, or is this strategy just blanket cover across many site in the hope of striking lucky somewhere.
Then again, maybe he thinks gamblers are suckers, and therefore stupid enough to part with their cash. Well that maybe, but not that stupid that you would throw a quarter of a million at him…now, on the other hand, £38 at 400%... surely that’s a no brainer.
