Dug out the old record player, been in the loft for about 20 years lol. But as records are making a come back I thought i'd dig it out, can't beat the old records.

 

Anyway, can't for the life of me remember where the other parts are, If I remember correctly it used to connect to another form of sound system.

 

As you can see in the photo I have made my own AUX cable from what existed, the sound comes through the speaks but only 1 speaker, and on full volume you can only just about here it.

 

I have tried a two speaker setup and a jam speaker but the volume is low on both, any ideas?

Yep an amplifier preferably with a PHONO input.

yep.....a pre-amp is needed. Usually record decks with a magnetic cartridge such as these would need a phono pre-amp. You can get them in Maplins if you want to hook it up to an existing sound system that doesn't have one. You might also need a ground wire coming from the deck. All of this is the reason why the sound is so quiet.

I used to have two SL1210's plugged into an amplifier via a mixer.  Really wish I had kept my decks...
