I have no issue with gold/silver/bronze titles for donations, automatically added after a donation. These cannot be subjective you've donated or you haven't.

I've set staff banners to "OFF" but they seem to persist...

 

It's either a mod you can uninstall or it's a hook you need to disable - I can't remember, it's been a long time!

Thanks Alan, I think it's a hook but disabling it didn't seem to work. I'll have another look. Still baffled as to how it managed to set itself in the first place!

For Gawd's sake get rid of anything that makes one person look more important or bigger than another, its atte tion seeking and has caused loads of arguments over the years. Why can't FME learn from its own history?

People who have been around the scene the longest all say the same, funny that.

Again if you are releasing layouts or contributing to get a badge then IMO stuff you, you are doing it for all the wrong reasons....

Yes including the staff one which says moderators, the only people that really need to have a status is the admins. Everyone else should be equal.

 

G1,2,3,4 how's that gones work. Whether this minimal problem is addressed or not won't be upto the members at the end of the day. The final decision will be made by staff, there's bigger problems within this site than a piddly banner under one's name. Tell me again on the standard of layouts what standard are you expecting as in layout quality and if say ive dx'ed say sheik yer money @1024wdx which i have who gets the final credit for my work, myself or the other designer on the other layout deamon x. Also still not answered about quality how's a new up and coming creator supposed to get to that standard before releasing anything. I feel on layouts etc we've been here before on here and dadsfme but it gets the site's no where in new member introductions to creating.
We've all burnt a few cakes before we get perfection!

Obviously as a new creator you are not going to be 100% perfect first time are you, so I am guessing there is some sort of exception to new layout creators not that we currently have any and I can't see us having any new ones until the scene is revitalised by a super smashing great new emu like the epoch one or a final fully working amber with most techs implemented into it.

 

And obviously Vectra  the smaller the layout the quality will reduce so that would also be taken into consideration and the larger the layout the quality should improve.

I think the fact people can see who's voted what is a bit of a put off.

I'm on the fence so to speak I'm for keeping badges if earnt and I'm also for not keeping badges as some are obsolete now due to not creating Layouts, so really I'm in a don't mind either way catagory, as there is no option for that I haven't voted. Also as with the mod job topic it makes no difference what the members say the management Will always have the last say.

I think there should be three categories within layout creating
1, Newbie creator, someone who's started creating layouts within a year,
2, Active layout creator, someone who creates layouts regularly or within the last one-three years,
And finally 3, Inactive layout creator
Someone who's made layouts but haven't released anything in the last three years, but if they release something today say then they'd be moved up to Active layout creator. Also instead of the banners the name would be three shades of green, light green/newbie, normal green/active. Dark green/inactive.
Something to think about in my eyes a good idea.

Maybe have a DX and Classic of the month award on this site.  Or of the year etc.   I guess it's all a bit of fun.   I'd certainly be up to judge a DX or classic layout, even do a review here and there.  I think the site needs something for contributors to aim for to get more creators involved.

Then I guess if you have won an award you could have that under you member accolades etc.  Again it would just be fun just to get something a little competitive going if people where up for it.  Unfortunately I don't get time to work on fme stuff for too long with certain things going on behind the scenes with my personal life etc.

There could be a certain review protocol were certain things would need covering

 

Size of layout shouldn't really be taking as a negative, but poor artwork and poor presentation would certainly take the shine off a DX layout or a classic layout, is the DX or classic easy on the eyes?  Can the layout be played without night vision goggles?
