It's a machine that uses EPOCH tech, so first suspect battery leakage killing the main MPU board, and work from there...

The lights stopping would point to problems with the lamp board too. Check for burnt or discoloured wiring connectors.

New mpu, possible new psu card, possible new lampboard....

mpu starts around £45 guaranteed working... psu card (mk2 version) rare as rocking horse crap £35+, lampboard around £25+ try for the mk2 version of this.

Not cheap to restore Epoch based machines, then there is the possibility of a reelboard, stake/prize board.

When mpu goes sometimes takes other boards out with it...

Good luck.

Just so happens I have been to look at an Epoch machine tonight, but came away empty handed, as it has got a boot issue.

From the description you are giving, it's likely the memory battery on the mainboard has leaked, and unfortunately as it's Epoch, very difficult to repair this board, so it's highly probable you will need to replace this board.

Pic here of the board in question (In your case, it should be fitted behind the main reels, to the left)..... if you look to the bottom-left corner, you will note the green object next to the two rows of blue dip switches..... this is the battery in question..... you need to get in with a torch, and see if there are any signs of leakage or any furry / green crud attached to the neighbouring components..... if this is proven so, this is a sure sign the battery has leaked and caused damage, and will require replacement of this board.

Cost for one (As fevernova has pointed out), is around £45, depending on where you can get one.

I do have a contact in Birmingham you can use that may do them a bit cheaper, but they are often untested / marked as working in the last machine they was fitted in, so you could be taking a bit of a risk there.

It would be nice if the issues did turn out to just be that board, but personal experience (and that of others) means that I am sceptical!

Is it a 4-reel or 6-reel driver board that you need? It looks like a 6 reel.

The 6-reel board seems to have become more rare recently. I think I sold all of the spare ones that I had.

No, they only produced a 4-reel board and a 6-reel board.

Looking at your image I think I can see 5 connectors but I could be mistaken.

I don't know the machine well enough to remember how many reels it has...

Swallow Amusements enjoy a very good reputation but their range of stock was looking rather sparse and dated on their site, until I had a look today that is.

They seem to have had a much needed stock update, which is excellent news.

Please do let us know how you get on with it.

They are difficult to fix due to surface-mount components, but http://www.fruit-emu...40855-andrew96/ might be interested.
