a few of you probably read my last post where I ranted about my local cashino getting rid of all machines with feature boards for low tech bar x style machines.   well I visited yesterday and was gobsmacked to find that half the floorspace has now been taken up by a bloody pool table! some would think its a smart move on their behalf but there is a pool hall 2 streets away that has free tables so I realy don't see the point other than trying to make the room look full.

Bizarre, and highly questionable. In most places pool tables struggle to make money, and can sometimes be responsible for attracting the wrong sort of people...
Peterborough Quicksilver got rid of theirs years ago for just those reasons.

I remember coral island having a snooker section with about 8 tables. This was years ago. Didn't last long mind.

sounds bizzare. since AMLD tax has gone, its become more viable to fill a room with machine. you make no money = you pay no tax.

Wasn't managed properly mate.

Like Coral Island isn't managed well full stop! :err:

We have a bowling alley with a couple of tables, but other than this only a few arcades which have a single table,it is sadly something that is dying across the country.

I don't see many snooker clubs around now either and many WMC are closing around the N.West too.

I must admit, I have 3 cashino's nearby and they haven't changed in years as far as I can see. Almost all the High Tech ones have gone and been replaced as mentioned by Bar X syles or the £500 machines
