I dont know if everyone is aware but NTL have just offered upgrades to their broadband services at the same prices however there is a cap to the download limit but i believe its a fair cap the upgrades are as follows: (i am doing this from memory so dont quote me)
300k up to 600k 20gb cap
750k up to 1.5mb 30gb cap
1.5mb up 3mb 40gb cap
i just thought i would let everyone know as i have just got me upgraded to 3mb and it dont cost a penny! Just give em a call

ive heared many people brag about the speed of the broadband they have, i have the 500k that was upgraded to 750k, but i you go to a site that is capped to a slower connection, or say if you want online banking that also has several thousand connecting at the same time, its totally pointless. you ever tried to upgrade your nero with an update, geeze its soooo slow.

Im not bragging at all i just wanted to let people know coz as usual ntl are keeping it quiet(ish) i only heard about it off my mate and if your on the 750k service a 2 min phone call should put you up to 1.5mb, i only got the upgrade from 1mb to 1.5mb in november due to me being up here in barbarian land so in the space of 5 months my internet connection has trebbled at no extra cost
i know what your sayuing about the site caps but lets face it who wants to turn down summat for FREE?

It seems NTL and consistency have nothing in common, I phoned earlier today and the three options were 1, 2 or 3 mb connections.
The guy said that my area was not due to be upgraded for another month but he would upgrade me for free if I completed a questionaire after a month.

You can also upgrade your speed online if you go here http://www.ntlworld..../tierMigration/
You can only do it there if you use a cable modem rather than run your connection through a set top box.

i did this a few weeks ago after seeing 1mb offerned for 14.99 when i was paying 24.99 for 800k. i rang up ready to complain like Fcuk and he just said thats fine here is 2mb, give it 20 mins then reset your cable modem and it will sorted.
I dont think i can do 40gb in a month because i dont download that much stuff.
