For most machines, I would use a max of 5 amp in this plug, but in some cases you can go as low as 3 amp.

For JPM Impact machines like yours though, have found sometimes 3 amp is not quite enough due to the surges of power it sometimes has, so I normally go 5 amp on those.

According to contemporary thinking by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and others the plug fuse is only designed to protect the appliance lead - the appliance itself should be protected by it's own on-board fuse/s or by circuitry protection.

By that logic you could theoretically put a 13 Amp fuse in everything, but that simply isn't good practice in the real world.

As Mark says, 5 Amp is a reasonable value to use. A lot of machines draw high current on start up and they could easily blow anything lower.

If the new fuse blows, then you will need to investigate possible faults in the machine.

The bridge rectifiers on these tend to go. If you keep getting a blown fuse, check the bridge rectifiers with a meter (there are 2).
