I've found that it's difficult to keep track of and update members reported posts and complaints in the site module, so any post reports will now be listed and updated in this thread.
Any disciplinary actions taken will also be detailed here.
Those members reporting threads will still remain completely anonymous.
Minor incidents dealt with by an informal request to moderate behaviour in future will still remain anonymous.
Incidents that result in a warning point, suspension or ban will be detailed complete with the username of the member against whom the action was taken.
This thread is not a forum for discussion and will only be updated by moderators or administrator.

During the recent flurry of posts in the KC emulator thread a couple of posts by Geddy were reported for being personal attacks.
As these reports were concerning a member of the moderation team they were discussed outwith the involvement of the subject matter of the complaint (without Geddy sticking his oar in).
The decision made in the staff room was that the posts made by Geddy were in the spirit of one of the lively debates we get in FME-land from time to time and that they may not have been reported had it not been for other events happening on other forums. The final decision to take no further action has been communicated and accepted by the original complainant and the complaints have been closed, or will be when I work out how to do it.

Recently in the topic of Jumping Jack Flash pictures a comment was made by Vectra which was taken to be rude and a) offensive and b) aggresive towards to OP by 2 different members. Well, as you can see from the thread itself, the comments weren't taken as such by the OP, and there was offence taken by the messages and Vectra himself had already offered apologies in a PM in case he had caused any offence. The matter had therefore already worked itself out and effectively closed itself before discussions in the staff room were completed. The original reports will now be closed.
On a general note, if you read a post and think it is offensive to another member, by all means report it, but personally I would find it exceptionally unlikely for me to side with a third party about an opinion of a comment posted from someone about someone else. If the person you think is being offended doesn't complain about it, then it is unlikely to find any grounds with me for intervening. This opinion is my own and other staff may have other views

Yes I would act...
Should a member make a comment that 'breaks the boundaries' I hope a 3rd party (and/or the 'target) does report it.
You can even pretend it was read by a partner and they insist you report it
