We've all played machine's from various era's but Something I've been wondering since I've found this site and that it what machines had these features first so a little test to see if you can help me and if you all can remember which machine had the following first-

Three times hold trick>

Let em spin, as in holds after nudges for win>

Extra life's>

Cashpots >

More than one set of reels on a single machine>

The first multiplayer machine to have a top box>

The first machine to introduce a IM board as in red logo or name flash for Jackpot>

Bonus on any number on the trail to feature/cash>

First machine to offer a repeat chance>

Barcode feature>

'Cash or Bust' feature>

99Nudges or Unlimited nudges>

Hi - Lo Reel>

First Trail based feature board>

And is there any other feature that anyone can remember as a "first" on a fruit machine?

Three times hold and let 'em spin - first machine I can remember this on would be Jokers Wild.

Extra Life - Simpsons

Cashpots - Now you're going back some. Pretty much all JPM machines had them at a point as well as many others. Probably Hot Pot.

First IM - Simpsons

Barcode feature - Again this is some time ago. Probably something like Sudden Impact.

Unlimited Nudges - Nudges Unlimited :)

First Hi Lo Reel - First one I remember was Lynx.

First feature board - Monopoly

Cool little quiz Vectra. Nice one. :)

What about the first machine with speech???

I'd say
extra life being barcrest topstop.
IM boards psycho cash beast.
Barcode has to be bellfruits like shogun,
Repeat chance probs blue streak pcp.
Cashpots something like the melon meter features.
These are just a guess I expect these features go back further

Can remember an old 2per called Blue Velvet. Was a lo tech but would often chuck you in 4 nudges, but would be unlimited to like an IM. You couldn't nudge in any other win apart from jackpot. Jackpot was £1!

I'm thinking multi player, super bear x coinworld came out before partytime, double sets of reels maybe grandslam.

First 'Hold after Nudge' - Universal OXO (predecessor to Bar X but with a pull-handle), although it would bring any win in and you didn't have to leave a pair on the line

First 'IM' board - It's a Knockout - Maygay, with the red water tank.  A totally original concept at the time.

Cash or Bust - I remember Crystal's Ready to Rumble (Boxing theme) having this, but I also think there was something else that had it before that

Barcode - Any of the BFM Scorpion 2 games like Shogun, Barcode etc, although I think the idea was a response to Maygay's mixed-bar hidden features on Spotlight, Searchlight, Omega, Bar-Gain etc, which weren't 321 or 123 but they sort of paved the way if you like

Trail-to-end feature board - Barcrest Super Adders and Ladders?  The originals were on £4.80 tokens.  Can't think of anything earlier than that.

Bonus on any number on the trail - Cash Counter?

Great thread!

Party time is simulated on Reels of fun

Currently no tech emulates Party time or any other Astra slot-which is so sad as my all time fav slot is Hoakey Coakey :realmad:

Cracking thread Vectra

What about the games in the 80's that had feature trails, like the original cops and robbers.

There was a machine in the 80's Which I think was called Super Nudge Attack, it was a video fruit machine. When you were awarded nudges a man would appear next to a nudge ladder and you had to hit, can't remember what you had to hit but that was the very first video fruit I ever saw. Does anyone else remember this machine? I believe that theses machines are rare. Would love to play that again

Sorry I don't know how to do an emulator, im just hear to play and make new pals.

We make a great team don't we?

JPM System 80 machines had start to end features. fruit snappa, road runner, (bwb`s "super cobra" was also a system 80 machine, i think) (does fortune trail, or mystery trail count?) barcrest machines of the early 80`s had most of all the features mentioned...razzle dazzle, strike a light, autoroute, fortune numbers, (Instant Replay?) exchanges unlimited........too many to list, but most features you have mentioned are coverd by these machines, though im not sure if any of them had a cashpot of any type, or win after nudge hold, or third hold pays...............     NOPE...ITHINK "tumble" had a cash pot of sorts? (no?) jpm, supabank......?

and... do the "micro dots" on early ace machines (pound stretcher? or similar?) count as a "cash-pot?

Neither Tumble nor Superbank had a cash pot on them. The first JPM machine that I recall with a cashpot was HotPot.
