was jpm "nudge double up" the first "nudge up" machine? (or barcrest "nudges unlimited")

was "eachway shuffle" the first "shuffle" machine?

i dunno. :)

correct. just checked myself. you beat me too it.. :)

No there were machines well before NDU that you could nudge up on. I remember playing one that had nine buttons on the top panel, three holds, three nudge up and three nudge down. The jackpot was either 50p or £1.

First shuffle machine was probably EWS. It wasn't a very common feature.

Carfield made some brilliant machines with this feature.  In fact I think it was Carfield that patented the 'Nudge'.  The machine in the pic is very similar to one I used to play with what we called the Hold or Drop buttons.  This machine could nudge the reel 1 step downwards, later models like Superbank mentioned could nudge UP too - hence the 9 buttons.

Mega streak people think it's relatively new, but it isn't originally called win series or reel run on loadsamoney, or red hot roll features and win-a-gain is a early mega streak. Also same goes for the Dond feature it's been around ages in the form of the bellfruit feature 'greed' where it offers a win you either take or leave it.

The first machine that had this was Line Up. I remember f*****g up on the nudges for the £ symbols and got 20p. I was fuming!!  :arghh:

Then it nudged it back to the original position, told me "I can do better" and nudged in the pound. Result!!

I never liked the G.A.I.N feature, rather try for hold after nudge for a bigger win,

Seem to remember "REEL CRAZY" was quite an early money bank machine?

Reel Crazy was the first machine that I saw that has back lit reels. It was also the first machine that I saw that paid the win streak 27 ways (on, above and below the win line). It was also the first machine that I saw where you could bank nudges from a cash win and hope they hold on the next spin. It was a ground-breaking machine in many ways. Fast gameplay too.

There were quite a few machines before this that had a money bank feature however - Superbank, Moneybank, Top Streak, Win Sprint, Tumble etc.

It's a knockout I agree was the first Invincible mode, psycho beast didn't have an Im when streaking the bonus would start at skill stop or taxi indicating a jackpot board was most probable, club version did though had a flash logo at top Im.

Psycho cash beast the logo flashed Afaik just like frenzy, magic carpet and Mont. Also the likes of bellfruits jumping jack flash the name flashes still don't think knockouts the first machine with the guaranteed jp board.

Just checked arcade history, psycho cash beast was 1998 so maybe knockout was 97 as on £8 jp, so maygay looks the first for red Im boards and barcrest for logo flashes etc.. Next! Still wanting the first multi player woth top board.

How about 27 ways to win?  I can remember a good few machines from the 70s which had this feature.

Twilight Zone is still my favourite, as it did not conform to all the well known cheats.

It also payed out on unusual symbol sequences, depending on their postion in the circle around the reels!!!!! Loved the sounds.

27ways wins? Club machine's C65 and grandslam and the like all the way though to red hot roll n crazy fruits.
First awp I remember is pcp's blue streak or jpm's each way nudger, not a feature as such but two jpm rosettes in view for 20p or three in view 27 ways wins. Of course my gambling only goes back to late 80's. Not that old rofl.

Honestly I've played phycho beast and frenzy million times and never se them do a flash board like I say club version defintely did, like yer say monty and clones all flashed quite often next board after jackpot on the streak.

Cash or bust would maybe cash attack or hi jynx possibly.

Surely 27 ways to win would be "Nudge Gambler", followed by "Super Nudge Gambler"?

Both  I believe late 70s.
