Hi all. Have an issue thats driving me nuts! My internet connection and sometimes my whole network drops for no reason. This usually happens while playing flash games. Sometimes it does it several times a day, other times hardly at all. I have to go into settings and disable/enable network card to continue. I have tried different browsers and even bought a network card rather than use the one attached to the motherboard....still no difference. I have a high spec PC so nothing else I can think of. Any ideas?

Hard to give a definite answer without a lot more detail of routers / cards used and other network information.
One thing comes to mind - did you disable the system from closing down the network card(s) when it thinks they're idle?
Device Manager - Network Adapters - Properties of the card - Power Management Tab - Untick all the boxes
Worth a check as that is one possible cause of the issue which fits your description.

Thanks for the replies...will give the above a try. I'm using Realtek cards (both on board and PCI-E) running 8-core AMD, 12gb Ram, Windows 7 64 bit

I had a similar problem a few years ago when I first got virgin cable. basically if I downloaded like a nutter the router would lockup.

My sky box would literally cap my download speed to 10kb/s if i was downoading on a torrent. It would stop randomly for 20 or so minutes. one day i tried closing down uTorrent and it started downloading properly again and havent had trouble since

I'm using a BT hub 5. If I download large amounts its fine....never drops once. If I'm playing flash games such as those on Sky Vegas etc it drops my whole network at random. Very frustrating
