Whilst on holiday last week, I was at a different caravan park from the one I was staying at for a meal. I noticed the fruit machine they had in the main bar was 20p/£5 8O!!!!. Are places allowed to have them set on that stake as I think that is a bit high for a fiver jackpot. I doubt that the machine is licensed as I did not see a license notice displayed with the machine, but isnt it only 10p/£5 machines that dont need a license?
On a side note, I managed to win £10 out of a High Flyer that was at the place I was staying, £1 in, feature entry, noticed it was an IM, let it go all the way, jackpot, repeat. Walked out of there well chuffed

Its perfectly legal. I think alot of service stations have the same 25p/£5jp. Not my cup of tea but what ever takes your fancy

Ok thanks. I think that should be illegal though . On 20p it will take in money twice as fast as its 10p counterpart so it should be on £10 JP at least to give the same game. Although it might play better on 20p than 10p if someone has been hammering it

try setting some of your emulators for 30p £5, for some amazing streaks..

I don't think it IS legal, at least not without a license.
Without a license, the maximum stake which you are allowed is 10p, and a JP up to £8. Having a 20p stake will need a license, and without one it will be illegal. I used to run my Spiker The Biker on 30p/£5 for a bit, it was definately interesting, with far fewer 'flat' patches, and Hi-Lo Notes and JP often going for £10.

Very common for 20p/£5 in kebab shops and funfairs. Worst thing is when you get jackpot repeat on one of these.......and it pays out £8 in 10p tokens!!.....and the machine you are playing is the only one that accepts the tokens, lol

OK thanks to everyone to clearing that up. Ill certainly not be going near any machines set on 20p+ £5 as i think its a rip off, even though i did win £4 from the machine for £1 in

Some of the layouts on JPeMu can be changed to £5 Jackpot at 30p play and they really do play an entertaining game. SuperBREAKOUT is one such machine. The changes are made using the DIP settings in the emu's CONFIGURATION window. One problem though is that obviously the decals would need changing otherwise it can get a bit confusing.
Classic layout versions are easy to re-do the decals so maybe give some of those a go.
