Why is everyone so up tight about these robbing fruitmachines who are not set up to pay out getting robbed anyway ? Isit because they broke and dont have the balls to travel round earning grands or are they just sheep following the rule book with no balls ???

If you're planning to discuss illegal methods of emptying fruit machines, then it's best to establish in advance that such subjects are not permitted on here.

Back in the good old days of token jackpots and low stakes amusement I will admit to sometimes taking advantage when an opportunity presented itself, because back then it was a grey-area, most of the time is was down to machine malfunction and the money lost was small and insignificant.  I'm talking about machines dumping themselves for no reason, paying out 2 coins instead of one, free credits and so on.  You could plead ignorance to a certain extent.  I've walked into arcades and found machines that have been left in test mode and was able to dump some tokens and coins out - maybe £30 or so, by pressing buttons.  I used to know machines with flat batteries that would pay out an easy jackpot or so every morning when first switched on.  I considered unplugging the machine during the day and repeating the process but I drew the line at that because it involved tampering with the machine.  I was happy to use my brain or knowledge to gain a small advantage from time to time, for small returns.  No major harm done.  All of the above was all good fun when I was 16 or 17; the extra money would only get lost back again over time and it was down to the staff to be aware of these small idiosynchrasies and be on the lookout.  It was an occupational hazard; every now and then a machine would go wrong out of the blue and the cost would be a tube of tokens or a reduced profit for a machine for a small period of time.  Considering how busy arcades were back then it was nothing to get too upset about.  If someone was caught taking advantage they would maybe have to return the money or get banned for a few weeks.

However, tooling is the preserve of a c***.  You have to tamper with the machine, often go equipped to do so, it costs the industry a lot of money these days and it is pure theft, plain and simple, and therefore it is illegal.  You can't dress it up any other way.

You might as well be a burglar asking people on a home-security forum why everyone is so uptight about their property being stolen.  Anyone who endorses fraud or theft is a c***, and anyone who does it deserves to be caught and banged-up.  Those are my thoughts on the subject.

Edit by Ady. Thank's for this well thought-out and written post. So spot-On.

Sorry amusements didnt know it was a english lesson .... i mean these machines are ment to be at a 70-80 percent payout and most arnt . Most will take your money and not even pay out. like the otherday i was on deal or no deal got a extra life died then it took me strate of the board . I thought having a extra life it should of let me play on ... im from blackpool and ive put my fair share in machines and not had the same back . Yes it is a form of theft but its not hurting anybody . Mite be classed as scummy . But as soon as a new person mentions refill keys or dumping a group of people jump on them ... is just abit hippercritical when most machines are already set below the legal limit so in one sence thats organised crime and greed.

I think you need to have a read-up on British law Re :- Burglary!

A Burglary can occur in Tesco's....during Opening hours for argument sake....Given a set of circumstances!!!

Let's not get into a discussion about how you feel able to justify certain types of theft as somehow acceptable.

If you have proof the percentage is set "too low", though Christ only know how as this will be measured over thousands of spins and unless you know the exact history of ins and outs on a machine then you are on a hiding to nothing there.  Extra life and killed off, complain to the owner; any reasonable owner would at least credit you with the lost play.  As to the "put your fair share in and not had the same back", well if the % is anything less than 100, then it sort of implies you won't.

As to the English lesson, are you mrx per chance.  If not then I apologise, but you have a similar style.

Welcome to the forum btw.  Have you tried the emulated machines - they are free to play?

The thing is, most of us on here are very far from "uptight" about fruit machines, because we don't play real ones in the wild anyway...

all machines pay a minimum of 70% except machines on oil rigs which are governed by a different law, and that percentage is 68%

as for the machines like DOND now, they haver massive pay cycles for one, and two you have little of no idea if it has just payed a streak.

if you play a machine is streak it for hundreds then fair play to you, if you get caught rodding or manipulating then you deserve to get your fingers burnt.

I can see where he's coming from regarding the machine %'s I've had many an experience in recent years where the machine just won,t appear to payout like the one time I put over £200 into a partytime £25jp and only gave a £5 top board in those circumstances it does appear that the machine % is far lower than the recommended 70%. obviously an arcade can,t set the % lower than 70% can they??. but for rodding whatever that is its clearly wrong even though it could be tempting if you've done your left bollock in it, its still theft same as using counterfeit coins n notes etc

It depends, were you just rodding them or did you use an emptier? The problem is, sewers are getting dumped all the time...

I know what you are saying mate as ive been many a time on the receiving end of the above in the past.

Yet as ive learnt the hard way(after losing £10,000's on slots ),through my addiction. I now have seen the light :wubclub:  through the emus mainly, showing just how much a slot can give but also take and over many days, weeks and months.!

Although I do not get the same amount of time as I used to,to play the emulations-I still have slots which ive sat down to play many years ago! And I still have not had a jackpot on them or a decent win run!!

And they have had 1000's of pounds and ive played 1000's of spins.

Ive also seen this in the arcades too- I witnessed a £500 slot pay the jackpot 6x in a 3day period and then take and take and take.!

And I know they have slightly different percentages to most slots in the arcades but they run on a similar programs.

No slot tells you what it has paid so hence we as punters are blind to this fact-hence the gamble we take.

And this is relevant to the initial post-I do not believe and never will that anybody should have an advantage over another person when it comes to any form of gambling.
