There'll be plenty of talk about that when the time comes mate, just enjoy your machines for now.

off the top of my head, when the time comes you send it off to maggi maggi. they will firmware update it, test it and send it back to you.
anybodys guess, but i would of thought the £40 mark sounds about right.

Just an idea but if its for home use couldn't you make a load 250 blank metal discs the right weight as the existing £1* and use them. Failing that whatviscthe actual difference in weight between the two.

Or just carry on using the old £1 coin, which will still be easily available....?

That's what I was thinking they should be in circulation till at least 2018 which is a while away by which time my machine maybe sold or a new calibrated coin mech will become cheaper to buy, failing that another brain wave I had lol. What about foriegn coins that work maybe be cheaper. As was said on the !Mecca a good thing about this is a lot of classic machines may start to appear from peoples home collections or arcades getting rid!!

their be gradually phased out over time, but i would imagine coin mechs that have been updated would pop up on ebay by the score, even cheaper if you send your old mech back.
like launton says, its a longway off until the time your left high and dry m8
was talking to some operators around hunstanton yesterday. they looking at chipping and buying a setup so they can program their own mechs and be future proof.
good idea that
