Progress is good at the moment.

I need to look at the Epoch core again as some Global games have issues, I suspect these are timer errors as only half the timer is emulated an d it seem to be running slow, which is what was happening with all games before and sorting the timer fixed most of them, but I left some modes unemulated as they werent being used by Impulse or Maygay. So with a bit of luck it should be a straightforward fix.

However apart from that little setback, the front end is coming along brilliantly.

If things go well the front end will be done Wednesday, so I can spend some time Thursday & Friday adding the server.

If things go badly then I will probably not get to the server until the weekend.

The server is the last job before it goes out to testers. So there will probably be a public release sometime in the next 2/3 weeks. Possibly sooner if there are layouts ready to go out. So far I have 1 complete layout in "Casino Crazy" and even that needs the reels doing before it can be released.

There will be 3 techs MPU4, Epoch & Impact. Eclipse will have to wait for a bit.

I should point out that the initial versions will be possibly buggy and should be considered WIP, I will get everything super stable eventually but there are always teething issues.

The early releases will be DX11 (or later) only and I do not know when that will change. So if you are in a hurry to play Epoch and your machine doesn't support DX11 then this is your 2/3 week warning, and if the testers get layouts built quickly it could be sooner than that. It will not be long now.

Thanks for the updates guitar. I am really looking forward to Epoch finally being properly emulated. That should bring some life back to the scene. Can I ask, are you adding support for using command lines to run games from the emulator and such? For those of us who might like to make custom loaders and front-ends?

Well there's always something that comes along to throw a spanner in the works. I have a new job, working 6 days a week, but the money is ridiculous so I cant turn it down.

Yay for me and everything but this will hold things up a little.

As it turns out I have another interview on Friday (its been a good day really), so wish me luck with that! Its for a job I'd much prefer, and only the usual 5 days, at normal times, so will be more amenable for emulation.

Amber is very nearly done now anyway (well Epoch and Impact) so it shouldn't hold things up too much, but I was planning on finishing it off over the weekend. I had the interview this morning and I start tomorrow at 3.30am so I'm gonna be a busy bee.

And...I have another new job, 9-5, and limited weekends, everything should go (mostly) back to normal emu wise next weekend. I'm working tomorrow, off Sunday then new job on Monday, if I'm not totally knackered on Sunday I'll try and get the front end finished while watching the Formula1.

Can anyone name an Impact machine that uses 2 hoppers, e.g. paid out 20p and £1 coins.

Any machine at all.
